Leasing Coordinator Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum 3 years of experience in leasing, property management, or real estate administration (NYC multifamily experience preferred)
Exceptional organizational skills and strict attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication abilities with a professional, service-oriented approach
Proficiency with property management software (RentManager experience a plus) and Microsoft Office
Familiarity with NYC/NYS residential requirements (such as rent stabilization, Good Cause Eviction, and HSTPA) or a willingness to learn these quickly
Leasing Coordinator Preferred Background & Skills
Experience working with tenant compliance, regulatory filings, and lease documentation
Comfort coordinating across departments and managing several deadlines at once
Leasing Coordinator Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Prepare, distribute, and track new leases, renewals, and riders across the portfolio to ensure timely and accurate execution
Manage and monitor lease renewal pipelines, proactively coordinating expiring leases and notice periods
Process rental applications, collect documentation, and perform credit/background screenings
Coordinate move-in and move-out logistics, including key handoffs, unit inspections, and security deposit paperwork
Maintain and update tenant and property records in property management software, ensuring ledgers and payment activity are accurate
Prepare and track compliance documents and required disclosures (lead-based paint, window guard, sprinkler, rent regulation notices)
Support accounts receivable by monitoring delinquencies, preparing rent demands and notices, and coordinating with legal counsel as needed
Serve as a first point of contact for tenant inquiries, delivering prompt and professional communication
