Bought the car, got it home with the paperwork, went out of state for a few days and when I came back the title was gone. Fairly certain my dumbass roommates threw it away thinking it was junk mail. Runs and drives like a champ. Regular exterior wear for its age, interior is in good shape. However, without a title it’s more or less a parts car. I do have the bill of sale from the previous owners so retitling is entirely possible, but I’d rather just buy a new car than spend that much time in the DMV. THE GOOD: Mechanical condition is perfect. No issues with the engine, no issues with the transmission. Brakes and tires will still be good for a while and it’s had spark plugs, oil, filters, etc. all recently changed. I also have three full repair manuals for it plus spare keys. Great MPG for its age. This series is a Toyota engine so it’s gonna last a good while longer. I’ve taken it on a handful of road trips with no issues and it’s proven reliable as hell over the last few months. Being a stick shift GT it is a pretty fun ride, and surprisingly peppy. Back seats fold down giving you about as much storage space as a mid sized SUV (I actually fit more in this than my ford Escape) plus a roof rack for additional storage. THE BAD: Gonna need to get her retitled if you want a daily driver. AC doesn’t work (needs a new compressor), starter is a little laggy sometimes but hasn’t failed yet, and some of the plastic components are cracked. Most notably the rear drive side door handle crumbled to bits, it still works but it’s less of a handle and more of a knob now. THE UGLY: Clear coat on the hood is all but gone, cheap aftermarket radio, hood prop rod isn’t attached to the engine though it is still with the car. Manual windows. Most of the trim has noticeable wear, eg. sun spots, chipping paint, missing rivets. Seal on the front driver side window keeps water out but can be a little gusty. Looking to get $1,800 for it, car is usually valued around $2,400-4,000 but I’m well aware that the situation warrants a good chunk shaved off of that.
