This Sienna has been converted into a wheelchair accessible vehicle by BraunAbility. These particular conversions are pretty rare, we actually haven't been able to get one of these in stock for quite a long time. This VT conversion uses the rear door of the van to load a wheelchair instead of the more traditional side entry. This rear entry style is a passenger friendly and also cost friendly mobility solution for loading and transporting someone who needs to be in a wheelchair. The interior of the van has its space maximized, and is left very flexible through its use of the Braun SimpleStow ramp. The ultra lightweight ramp is very simple and intuitive to deploy when needed and stow when not. It's a solid, wider than most, low angle ramp that locks away in an upright position when transporting a wheelchair. Because it sits flush against the rear door, there is additional room to transport additional cargo or luggage along with the wheelchair itself. This van also comes equipped with additional lighting for the ramp system and the lowered floor. It makes loading and unloading in low light conditions much easier and safer for everyone involved. The ramp itself is over 32" wide and comes standard with a 1000lb load rating, so it can handle larger and heavier chairs without any issues. This design also allows for the van to retain its second row of seating for additional passengers. BraunAbility has designed and installed special running boards with integrated steps for both the drivers side and passengers side of the vehicle. For additional safety, there is an emergency release system for the rear hatch, and a back up warning system. The Sienna comes equipped with Q Straint retractors for the front and rear of the wheelchair to make securement simple and safe. The rear suspension system also has a specially designed rear cradle that retains the independent suspension functions for a superior ride and comfort. The OEM custom tailgate latching system is both easy to operate and also minimizes road noise and vibration. For additional convenience and durability it comes equipped with WeatherTech all season floormats for the driver and passenger as well as durable vinyl flooring throughout the passenger and wheelchair area. This van even retains use of a spare tire for emergencies. It's a great solution for anyone who needs to transport a wheelchair, and would like to spend about 20K less than what a typical side entry van will cost.
