The Sienna has been converted into a wheelchair accessible vehicle by BraunAbility. The Braun XI conversion includes a lowered floor, power deploying and retracting ramp system automatically integrated to the RH power door, automatic power kneeling system, removable roll and go driver and passenger seating, integrated track system in the floor, as well as many other modifications to make transporting someone with mobility issues safer and much more convenient. The Braun XI conversion includes a custom lowered floor to make room for a wheelchair, computer controlled electronic power deploying and retracting ramp system that's integrated to the passenger side sliding door, an also computer controlled and integrated power kneeling system to lower the van, driver and front passenger seats which are easily removable and built on rolling platforms for moving, strong and simple to use integrated L track system in the floor for securing wheelchairs, as well as many other modifications to make transporting someone with mobility issues safer and much more convenient. The system that BraunAbility has installed into and modified this vehicle with is very intuitive and easy to operate and live with on a daily basis. The factory key/remote entry system activates both power doors. However when the passenger side sliding door is activated, the BraunAbility system also activates and begins to put the vehicle into loading/unloading mode. The electronically controlled wheelchair ramp begins to deploy. Upon deployment of the power ramp, the integrated kneeling system automatically activates to bring the passenger side of the van closer to the ground. This reduces height of the floor and the angle of the ramp which makes it safer and more convenient to enter or exit the van with a wheelchair or scooter. Once you have loaded the wheelchair, pressing the passenger side door button performs the same functions, only in reverse. The Electronically controlled automatic kneeling system begins to bring the van up to its standard ride height. The integrated electronic ramp begins to retract back into the vehicle to prepare for driving mode. Once the ramp is fully retracted into the vehicle the powered sliding door begins to close. As the door closes, the integrated kneeling system finishes bringing the vehicle to driving height and you are ready to go! Other features and conveniences of the Braun XI system are rubberized flooring throughout the cabin area which provides more traction and protection for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. The integrated L track system for securing chairs, scooters, or seatbelts keeps riders and drivers safe and legal. Factory style switches installed in the van control the doors, kneel system, and ramp and look like OEM equipment. The rear seat is located in a specific area to allow for more room to move scooters or chairs, but still be comfortable for an adult to ride in. There are even dual spring loaded foot rests built into the van for those passengers. Exterior body molded paneling (ground effects) make this modified van look great and actually enhance the factory styling. The bodywork also includes built in steps for easier entry and exit from the front doors. The Braun integrated kneeling system used a strong and very durable metal chain as opposed to the rope found in many other systems. Both front seats are designed to release from the floor with a step pedal, and are mounted on wheels for easy removal and reinstall whenever needed. The seats also include a simple to use plug system that allows you to retain all of the factory electronic seat functions.
