Telecommunicator Dispatcher (Hershey)

MHS is hiring a full-time Dispatcher/Telecommunicator (CMT) to join our Central Monitoring team. This is a unique opportunity to use your dispatch, safety/security, and customer service skills to make a meaningful impact in the lives of youth. As a CMT, you’ll be at the heart of campus operations, handling 15 - 45 dispatch calls daily, monitoring 900+ surveillance cameras, and coordinating emergency and non-emergency services across our expansive residential & school campus. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to serve.  Key Responsibilities: Receive and coordinate incoming calls and service requests Monitor fire, mechanical, and security alarms Dispatch Campus Safety Officers and Service Technicians Operate as the central hub for phone and 2-way radio communications Respond during school closures and emergencies Other duties as assigned.  Work schedule: 2nd shift, Wednesday - Saturday, 1:30 pm – 12:00 am.  Hourly pay rate: $22.33 - $29.81, pay is determined based on experience.  In addition to competitive pay, full-time employees are eligible for an excellent benefits package. High school diploma or GED.  Experience working with security alarm systems and surveillance equipment. APCO Telecommunicator I, APCO Law Enforcement Dispatch, APCO Medical Dispatch training, preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IBM platforms. Experience with a Total Quality Management System a plus.  Experience handling service requests, complaints, and issues/problems. Strong customer service and dispatching skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all MHS staff are role models for the students. Candidates should be willing to actively engage with students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities.
