Felipe’s Taqueria, located in the center of Harvard square, is a bar/restaurant with a rooftop bar area that holds over 250 people - We are in search of professional security personnel to help in maintaining the safety protocols in place for our staff and guests. The position handles capacity control, alcohol controls, maintains fire and safety throughways, checks IDs, monitors suspicious activity, and maintains accurate capacity counts. This is not a sit down door man gig. The position requires constant movement throughout the facility and engagement with staff and guests. Strong communication skills and high social intelligence are required. On some occasions non-violently de-escalating potential conflicts that can come with crowded bar spaces and alcohol consumption are required. Experience in high volume restaurant, bar, or club atmospheres is preferred and law enforcement and/or military experience is a plus. Shifts are typically from 6hrs to 9hrs long. Nights and weekends are a required part of the job. Part time or fulltime hours are available for qualified candidates. Compensation is commensurate with experience and verifiable work history/references. Physical requirements for this job include: The ability to walk up and down 2 flights of steps regularly. The ability to work on your feet for up to a 10 hour shift with minimal resting and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs. The ability to hear and speak clearly with guests and staff in a loud and crowded environment. The ability to see details and guest conduct from across a room.
