JOG RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide high quality security services, safeguarding personnel, students, and property. * Conduct patrols within and around the facility on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to ensure the protection of people, assets, and property. * Enforces rules, regulations, and directives for the viability of the campus * Greet guests and employees, assisting where appropriate; examples; escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points. * Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders. * Reporting safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances via written and verbal communication * Interact with client and/or other security personnel regarding order execution when appropriate * Respond to and assesses security alarms or emergency alarms; act as a first responder in emergency situations and provide first aid as necessary JOB QUALIFICATION: · U.S. citizenship or valid U.S. work permit. · Twenty-one (21) years of age, and minimum 3 years’ experience as Armed Security Officer. · This requirement may be waived for veterans of military service with the written approval of the Hiring Coordinator. · Shall meet all qualifications and have all required licenses and certifications to carry firearms. · Free of criminal record. · Valid driver’s license or valid state identification card. · Successfully pass a five-panel drug screen · Successfully pass a national background check required by the Texas Education Agency to work in Texas public schools. · High school graduate or equivalent thereof. · Completed all required training courses as mandated in state and locality of employment. · Meet state licensing requirements within sixty (60) days of placement. · Speak, read, write, and understand the English language clearly. · Comprehend oral and written orders, procedures, and materials. · Compose written reports; convey complete information utilizing correct sentence composition and grammar. The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA is seeking candidates for a full-time Security Campus Patrol Officer position. This dynamic position provides support for the museum’s interior security operations as well as a visible exterior presence for the museum’s properties, buildings and grounds after-hours and late at night. Interior duties will include security post coverage during any after-hours events or programs. Exterior duties will include inspecting & patrolling PEM’s Salem properties, responding to alarm calls, investigating incidents upon dispatch, and acting independently to resolve adverse conditions and situations. This position works closely with PEM’s Security Operations Center, Security Campus Supervisors, on-call staff, and local public emergency response personnel. The work includes some indoors, as well as, much outdoor work in all types of weather. Job requirements are: able to maintain being physically active on a regular basis in order to react and respond to any emergency situation without serious physical limitations; possess a good driving record; able to work longer than the standard work day and work hours, the ability to walk, sit or stand for long periods of time, climb up and down stairs, lift 40 pounds, and be able to provide first aid care and CPR to someone in an emergency, if needed. Any selected candidate will be provided access to a PEM owned vehicle, and must possess an active and valid MA Driver’s License and be able to retain that active license for the duration of their employment. The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA is seeking candidates for the Overnight Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator position. SOC Operators monitor computer-driven access control, surveillance, and life-safety systems throughout the museum campus. The SOC also coordinates incident response with alarm service vendors, emergency responders and in-house security staff. Additional duties include maintaining daily activity logs, filing incident reports, operational and performance tests of relevant systems, and basic maintenance of control center equipment. SOC operators must have a strong working knowledge of security field operations in order to successfully coordinate effective response procedures. Operators will therefore also be regularly assigned to field posts where they will interact with the public, conduct area inspections, and perform other duties as assigned to maintain the physical security of museum spaces. Successful candidates will have strong written and verbal communication skills, an acumen with technical concepts, and an assertive yet professional demeanor. The ability to remain calm under pressure and exercise well-reasoned discretion is essential. An Associate’s degree in a related field (or an equivalent of education and work-related experience) is required and a minimum of two years of relevant experience is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and common network communication platforms like email, cloud storage in particular Google Workspace is desired. Must be able to work for extended periods on foot and be able to be seated for extended periods as well. This is a full-time, overnight position with 12-hour shifts. The regular hours of this position are 7pm to 7am, but initial training is conducted during the day shift from 7am to 7pm. The schedule includes weekends, evenings, holidays, and extended shifts.
