Job Type: Contract / Part-Time Location: California (remote oversight + occasional on-site availability as required by BSIS) About Us: We are a growing security company seeking to establish and maintain compliance with the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) licensing requirements. To operate legally as a Private Patrol Operator (PPO), we require a BSIS-certified Qualified Manager (QM) with a valid PPO QM Certificate. Responsibilities: • Serve as the official BSIS-designated Qualified Manager (QM) for our PPO license. • Maintain compliance with all BSIS requirements and regulations. • Provide oversight of company operations related to the PPO license. • Advise management on legal and operational compliance matters as needed. • Be available to BSIS in case of audits or regulatory inquiries. Requirements: • Must hold a current California BSIS Private Patrol Operator Qualified Manager Certificate (QM for PPO). • In good standing with BSIS (no disciplinary actions). • Strong knowledge of BSIS rules, PPO requirements, and compliance obligations. • Prior management experience in the private security industry preferred. Compensation: • Industry standard is typically $1,500–$3,000 per month as a flat retainer, depending on responsibilities (some agreements range $500–$1,000/month for minimal involvement, and $3,500+ for active operational oversight). • Open to negotiation based on the level of involvement (compliance-only role vs. operational management). JOB SUMMARY The Site Security Director will be directly involved in the day-to-day security operations of a large non-profit organization site located on the peninsula with hundreds of employees and thousands of daily visitors. The Director will be entrusted to oversee the fundamental security requirements and to envision the direction of the security department and tailor the security department to the specific needs of the client, with the bonus of having the entire HighCom staff as support. Essential Functions: Oversee the entire security operations of the site and consistently ensure the highest level of security is being provided. Ensures all procedures provide coherent, efficient, and complete solutions for all site security needs. Stays abreast of all security incidents and ensures proper documentation is completed. Serves as the site’s primary point of contact and liaison between the client and company. · Provide guidance and counsel to aid clients about security-related expectations. · Maintain and update the Emergency Procedures Manual and Security protocols/policies covering fire, natural disasters, security threats, and how to respond. Continually updates and/or creates post orders as well as security policies & procedures. · Assess and conduct training for security personnel and client staff.
