$850 / 4br - Sunny Room in 4BD/ 2BA (alameda)

Starting Oct 1, we have a small, sunny & clean commuter room available in the east side of Alameda for $850. The room & you: Size of room is 10 x 7.5 ft and fits a full size bed and desk/dresser (comes unfurnished). Has a small closet as well. This room gets the most and best light in the whole house! We are looking to find someone for this room who would only be home part-time, or someone who's not home all the time. Perfect for a person who either works out of the house and has a busy social life, or someone who needs a part-time room in the East Bay. The house & neighborhood: The home is shared by 2 other women in their late 30’s early 40’s (we are currently looking to fill 2 rooms, so there will be a total of 4 housemates). We make an effort to emulate a community-focused atmosphere by fostering intentional communication and shared experiences.  We have a balance of doing things together sometimes and also have our own full lives that keep us busy. In total there are 4 rooms and 2 bathrooms in the unit. The house is on the second floor (top floor) of a two-story duplex, right off of High street. It has high ceilings and large dining & living room windows. It gets gorgeous light throughout the year. There is a coin-op washer & dryer downstairs. The house is close to Park Street with all of the restaurants, cafes and bars that are along that strip, and it's also close to Alameda beach. Oakland airport is a 10 min drive away. South Shore Center is 1.5 miles away. There’s a small local grocery store, a cafe, a bakery, and a Thai/Japanese restaurant half a block away. The island is very bikeable, and close to Fruitvale Bart in case you need to pop into the city. The front yard has a couple of raised beds for gardening if that’s of interest to you. It's really peaceful and quiet at night.  The nitty gritty: Rent is $850/month. Utilities are separate and usually come out to about $100 per month. Security deposit is $850. This is a 6-month lease and then will go month-to-month with the intention of staying long term. The housemates: Marissa (38) is a painter and designer who enjoys conscious communication and heartfelt conversations. She geeks out on self growth, health, and art. She values holistic health and wellness (mind, body, spirit) and enjoys getting out in nature, camping, time with her partner and loved ones, dancing!, painting, traveling and seeing new places and meeting new people.  Julia (44) is a self-employed artist/ photographer who enjoys camping, nature, hiking, traveling, dancing and laughing with good friends. She loves making healthy meals for her friends.  About you: We are looking for a kind, conscious, communicative, and responsible person who is interested in contributing to (or at least being open with) the collaborative vibe of the house. We are good friends and ideally we'd love to bring someone in that we can get along with! We do our own thing most of the time, but sometimes we'll share meals, or go out of town camping together, or go to dance parties or events. You should have reliable income and be willing to contribute to house cleaning semi-consistently.
