Description

1 private bedroom in a true 2 bedroom apartment for rent! Seeking a responsible, easy-going, respectful roommate to share this rare gem of an apartment. *Pre-war! The apartment is a real 2 bedroom (NOT converted). It’s a great neighborhood and the block itself has a real neighborhood feel. *Separate kitchen from spacious living room. In the kitchen there is a new large fridge. It's really great for cooking and I have lots of cooking essentials that you are welcome to share. *Full bathroom with tub. Bathroom is nice - sink unit, medicine cabinet and clean tub/shower. Also has a window. *Apartment is fully furnished and is comfortable and cute. The living room is a great size with two windows, AC, a large couch, big TV, and dining room table. The apartment features hardwood floors, but what truly makes it special are the city views and the abundance of natural light. *The room is typical sized for the Lower East Side/East Village area and has a full sized (double) low lofted bed, dresser, wardrobe, bookcase, desk and lamps. Your room also has a window with a fire escape and a "real" closet. Rooms are separated by a hallway and do not share a wall. You have views of the Empire State Building from your room as well as natural sunlight, especially in the morning. * Standout location in one of the best areas of New York City. You'll be within easy walking distance to; Astor Place, Union Square, Tompkins Square Park, Greenwich Village, Lower East Side, Murray Hill, Gramercy Park and more, making NYU, Cooper Union, Baruch College and most Manhattan Hospitals an easy walk not to mention all the bars, restaurants and clubs at your doorstep including PDT, Schmuck, Webster Hall, Rumpus Room, Sake Bar Decibal, The Public Theater and many of Manhattan's trend setting eateries & hang-outs. * Location is very convenient being within 1 and 1/2 blocks of a Target, a Trader Joes', a Whole Foods, a subway station, two bus lines and two laundry mats. Within 5 blocks are five pharmacies, 5 laundromats, five bus lines, two subway stations (L, 4, 5, 6, N, Q, R), a Staples, a Best Buy and a plethora of specialty food purveyors including but not only, the Union Square Farmer's Market, an Organic grocery store and Italian market. My roommates and I have always made the house a real home and I would like a roommate who also wants a "home". I always had lovely roommates and am on good terms with all of them and some have even become life-long friends. We do not have to be best friends, but it would be nice if we could share the space together, have a conversation and possibly watch a movie or some such from time to time. I also love to cook and will share if you are home. The home is tidy and while it's fine if you're not crazy clean, you must be able to pick up after yourself and when it comes to the common spaces. A bit about me; I was born in NYC. I have a background in movie, commercial, TV, including broadcast television and music video production. I love good food, reading, dark comedy, skincare and DIY. I am a licensed drone pilot and have a BA in Economics. She/Her. Sorry no dogs and the room is for one additional roommate. $1,450 plus utilities: wi-fi, con-ed. * Speed test I just did shows 205.2 mbps download, 23.3 mbps upload. I have a ASUS AC1900 Router & Netgear CM600 Modem so we each pay Spectrum $50 a month (split $100) * ConEd ranges from $75 - $300 depending on the time of year (it really depends on A.C. usage), and is split among roommates. Move in has flexibility and am willing to accommodate the right person asap if needed. Ideally looking for at least a 1 year minimum commitment (August / September 2026 move out) with a possibility to extend. When responding if you could please tell me a bit about yourself, what you are looking for, when or for how long you've been in NYC and include any and all questions you may have. Please know that I will not answer responses which only say, " Is this still available", if the posting is up, it is still available. Look forward to meeting you, Cheers!
