I'm looking for a great housemate to share this 2-bedroom house in North Berkeley, just a few blocks from downtown/campus. Your room: Sunny 10' x 10' room, refinished wood floors, with closet and hall closet storage. Currently unfurnished, but could help with furnishings if you're just moving here! The rest of the house: The landlord recently remodeled the bathroom and the kitchen, with a huge new gas range in the kitchen, new fridge, and a new washer/dryer -- the place looks great. A working fireplace sits in the large living room, with the original wood floors throughout. Shower/tub has both high and mid-level shower heads. Great neighborhood: Close to BART and UC Berkeley, walking distance to multiple grocery stores like Trader Joe's, Monterey Market, and Safeway. Gigabit data over fiber optic for internet. Still moving in, looking for a couch, rug, etc. The housemate: Tom, a research teacher, world traveler, active hiker, solid kitchen and cocktail skills, healthy foods omnivore, into sci fi, investigative journalism. Recently returned from an overseas teaching gig in Berlin. Outside of work, I'm usually seeing friends, going to the gym, having an occasional friend over for dinner, road trips, board games, and random building projects. Two acoustic guitars live here, but you won't have to hear them. In terms of house life, I look for good energy, music, things happening in the kitchen, cleanliness, respect for others. -- Lots of street parking, city permit needed for longer than 2 hours. -- 10 blocks to the downtown BART station/UC Berkeley -- A quick walk to great coffee shops and restaurants like Cheeseboard Pizza, Saul's Deli, and Chez Panisse.
