We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Quality Control Technician. This role is based in our facility in Walla Walla, WA, and reports to the Quality Control Supervisor. Job Summary We are seeking an upbeat individual who will be responsible to support the Quality Control Division! This includes testing and inspecting PVC and HDPE products at various stages of production. Emphasis will be placed on the checking and testing of products throughout the production process, recording the results and compiling reports to detail the results. Record all testing results and communicate results to affected parties Conduct production inspections and maintain records of production inspections Identify areas of quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly. Incumbent will be responsible to optimally operate QC equipment to include: Faro Arm, Burst Test System, Heat Reversion Oven, Flattener, and other QC equipment Able to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications Responsibly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Maintain a safe and clean work environment while adhering to all safety policies and procedures Must be eager to learn, self-motivated to work independently and have good written and verbal communication skills Other duties as the need arises and/or assigned. Requirements Qualifications & Experience Strong aptitude for numerical calculations and analytics Be 18 years of age or older. High School graduate or equivalent. Experience using QC equipment for pressure testing is helpful Tools and Equipment Capable of using dimensional gauges and tools to measure PVC and HDPE products. Incumbent will be required to operator a forklift Work Environment Incumbent spends 100% of their time in a manufacturing plant environment requiring varying degrees of physical labor. Lifting, pulling, pushing heavy objects (20-50lbs), standing for long periods and walking are required. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades and presses. Considerable amount of sensory attention is required. Limited control of work pace and unexpected workflow bring considerable stresses to this position. This team member is responsible for hauling refuse from Wenatchee, Cle Elum and Ellensburg to the Wenatchee Landfill. Scope of Work: Safely and efficiently transport refuse from several transfer station sites in the central Washington area to the Greater Wenatchee Landfill. At the landfill the team member will be required to wear the appropriate PPE attire and follow ALL Waste Management rules while onsite. The team member will back onto a tipper and unhook the trailer from the tractor. The tipper operator will then tip the trailer to unload the refuse. Once empty the VCT team member will connect the tractor and trailer, scale out and depart the landfill for the next dispatched location. ALL dispatch is done via company radio. Responsibilities: Perform DOT inspections to ensure that the equipment is safe to operate. Report any defects to the appropriate department. Follow direction from dispatch. Comply with ALL DOT regulations. (i.e., weight restrictions, rest breaks, etc.) Report any violations or citations immediately. Build an extensive knowledge of the operation, safety features, and process steps. Other duties as delegated. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or GED preferred. 2-4 years’ experience as a Set Up Technician or Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment preferred. Experience working with extruders preferred. Experience using Powered Industrial Vehicles and hand tools. Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to stand for long periods. Capacity to stand, lift, and perform for extended periods The ability to wear all required PPE including not restricted to safety glasses, hearing protection. Ability to work 12-hour shifts. The physical environment including but such as but not confined to exposure to various substances or equipment this includes among others moving machinery, repetitive motions, noise, powered industrial equipment. Regular work is performed in a non-controlled temperature environment. These exposures could produce discomfort and/or moderate risk of accident or ill health. The sensory attention is deemed moderate because of often requiring increased demand on two or more senses at a time. As a part of the Production Team, a Production Assembly Worker will be responsible for all required assemblies and installations on heavy-duty transit buses in the assigned work area on the production line, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.   We are seeking Production Assembly Workers to work on 1st shift 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday-Friday.  There may be overtime opportunities available after the scheduled shift and on Saturday.    WHAT YOU WILL DO Performs all installations and/or assemblies within a specified work area on the production line. Prepares work to be accomplished by reviewing assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials. Ensures quality and consistency in installations and/or assemblies within a specified work area. Be able to work from blueprints, process sheets, and/or written instructions, then build to those specifications while utilizing measurement tools and basic math skills. Have working knowledge of hand and air tools. Employee is regularly exposed to vibration, and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. Regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Be able to bend, stoop, and reach.  Be able to climb up and down, as well as work using a ladder. Employee will go extended periods of time standing and performing repetitive tasks. Ensure workstation is kept clean and in safe working condition. Be present on the job to perform the assigned duties and be able to work overtime which is often required to meet production schedules.
