Description

A. Patient transports • Pick-up and deliver patients as directed by Dispatch. • Lift and move patients as required. • Communicate with nursing staff, patients and family members to provide information and assurance that appropriate care has been or will be given in a compassionate and respectful manner. • Ensure receipt of all forms pertaining to special patient requirements from nursing staff, social services and/or case managers immediately upon arrival at all health care provider facilities. • Obtain transfer packet from the charge nurse at the hospital and/or skilled nursing facility immediately upon arrival to pick-up a patient and, give patient’s transfer packet to the charge nurse upon arrival at another hospital and/or skilled nursing facility. B. Operation of vehicles • Operate the company’s vehicles as assigned by Dispatch in a safe and lawful manner. • Ensure that vehicle is operable and fully stocked with required equipment upon commencement of shift. • Monitor and maintain the general condition of the vehicle, keep it clean inside and out so as to maintain a positive image of Pentagon Rides & Transport LLC • Report all needed vehicle repairs and turn in required maintenance forms to the shop mechanic at end of a work shift. • Report availability status to Dispatch on a regular basis throughout shift and for each increment of 15 minutes waiting time. • Adhere to all speed limits, motor vehicle laws and all other requirements as presented in the initial training with Veterans Rideshare, and the company’s employee handbook and safety manual. • Maintain a daily van log and verify with dispatch all log information and patient problems on a regular basis during each work shift. C .Miscellaneous • Provide professional, courteous service to achieve maximum patient satisfaction. • Present a professional personal appearance in accordance with dress code policy in the employee handbook. • Maintain professional pubic relations in every facility visited. • Responsible for check and adhering to daily work schedules. • Work varied schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, changing start times and long hours including overtime whenever requested. • Keep current on all certifications as required by law including, but not limited to, a California Drivers License, First Aid and Adult, Child, Infant CPR cards. • Perform all continued training according to Pentagon Rides & Transport LLC and adhere to all company policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications: Must have a caring, responsible work ethic, valid California Driving License, First Aid and Adult, Child, Infant CPR certification or EMT certification; Must complete required online and on the job training. Recent, verifiable and directly related work experience. Customer service experience. Effective oral and written communication skills. Must be a self-starter, motivated, have cooperative interpersonal skills, and consistently demonstrate pride in the job performed. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs without assistance. Must be able to travel to nearest center and pass drug test.
