CDL Truck Driver – Local Route (Food Waste Collection) $28/hour starting wage | Path to Worker-Ownership | Weekdays 5:00 AM–12:00 PM CERO Cooperative, Inc., a Boston-based, worker-owned cooperative, is seeking a responsible, professional CDL truck driver to join our growing organic waste collection team. This is a solid local driving opportunity with a Monday–Friday schedule and the unique chance to become a worker-owner with one of Boston’s leading sustainable W/MBE businesses. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and experienced in commercial truck operation. Compensation & Schedule Starting Pay: $28/hour After 6 Months: Increase to $30/hour Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM Hours: 35–40 hours per week Pay Frequency: Biweekly Worker-Ownership: Eligible after initial period Responsibilities Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections (fluids, tires, safety equipment, etc.) Follow designated routes using the routing app or as assigned by the operations manager Safely operate a garbage truck to collect source-separated organic waste Load and unload totes and containers (must be able to lift/push/pull over 100 lbs) Operate hydraulic hand controls for lifting and disposal at designated facilities Maintain a courteous, professional demeanor with customers Adhere to company policies and all local, state, and federal driving laws Complete route logs and other reports as required Perform preventative maintenance and report issues promptly Qualifications Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of commercial driving experience Familiarity with GPS, routing apps, and service logs Clean driving record and understanding of DOT regulations Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Basic mechanical knowledge for inspections and troubleshooting Waste collection experience is a plus, but not required. Join JC Grounds Management, a leading snow removal contractor, as a Salt Truck Operator (STO) for the upcoming winter season.  As a salt truck operator at JC Grounds Management, you will receive training on equipment safety, operation, path of motion, and product application.  Our fleet of application vehicles do not require a CDL license to operate however you must be comfortable operating a large truck during adverse weather conditions.  Most of the shifts occur between 6pm and 8am but can/will extend to anytime of the day especially following a winter event.  Salt truck operators need to be on-time and have a clean driving record.  They will also need to load their truck with material using a skid steer (training to be provided if necessary).  We are currently looking for operators to service routes dispatched from Chelmsford, Lowell, Billerica, Tewksbury, Wilmington areas.
