The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that all biological products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This role involves performing routine inspections, conducting tests, and maintaining accurate documentation to comply with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Perform routine quality assurance checks and inspections on biological products and materials. Conduct laboratory tests and analyze samples to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory guidelines. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results. Document and record all test results, inspections, and findings in a clear and organized manner. Identify and report any deviations or non-conformances from quality standards to the QA Manager. Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and protocols. Collaborate with the production team to address and resolve quality issues. Participate in internal and external audits to demonstrate compliance with quality standards and regulations. Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes related to biological products. Ensure a clean and safe working environment in the laboratory by following all safety protocols and guidelines. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality assurance role within the biological or pharmaceutical industry. Strong understanding of quality control procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and conducting biological tests. Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Proficient in using quality management software and other relevant computer applications. Preferred Qualifications Certification in Quality Assurance or Quality Control. Schedule Part-time: 2–4 shifts/week, typically 8 hours per shift Weekly schedule is finalized and posted by Friday for the following week based on harvest load; we communicate any changes as early as possible Shifts will include a mix of harvest-focused and lighter coverage days for quality control and upkeep Start: ASAP Physical and Mental Demands This job requires periods of standing, sitting, lifting, repetitive motion, and close visual work. About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented PLM Analyst with proven expertise in asbestos testing. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) analysis of bulk asbestos samples and have formal training or certification in the field. Key Responsibilities: Perform asbestos analysis of bulk building materials using PLM in accordance with regulatory methods. Accurately identify and quantify asbestos fibers. Prepare and analyze samples with a high degree of precision and attention to detail. Document and report findings in compliance with laboratory quality assurance standards. Work independently or collaboratively within a laboratory team. Qualifications: Demonstrated experience conducting PLM asbestos analysis. Must have completed training through the McCrone Research Institute or hold documented approval/sign-off from another accredited laboratory. The Sr. Quality Control Specialist performs first article, in-process, and final component inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), manual inspection equipment, and visual inspection. They will translate engineering requirements to quality control plans and develop CMM programs as needed. This role will ensure compliance with quality requirements and ensure that manufactured or procured products meet specified standards before they progress to next phase of production or customer delivery. Major Duties and Responsibilities: • Interpret engineering drawings and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality requirements. • Prepare quality control plans for components based on engineering specifications. • Develop Coordinate Measuring Machine programs. • Set-up and inspect components using CMM’s. • Utilize various manual measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, and other hand-held measuring devices. • Utilize vision-based equipment such as optical comparators for measurement of parts or part characteristics. • Evaluate inspection results to determine conformance to requirements. • Complete final inspection reports and first article inspection reports. • Upload inspection records to company server. • Document, track, and complete nonconformance reports. • Perform basic weekly and daily maintenance of CMM instruments. Track CMM performance to ensure calibration is accurate. • Understand basic statistical techniques sufficient for evaluation of measurement data trends. • Understand and follow Centrus quality procedures. • Train others on inspection techniques and tools when required. • Keep machines and work area clean and organized. • Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines. • Practice safe working behaviors and adhere to safety policies, guidelines, and procedures. • Other projects as assigned Requirements • High School diploma or equivalent. • Minimum of five years of experience in dimensional inspection and CMM programming. • Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5. • Programming and operation experience using Zeiss Calypso software and CMMs. • Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high value components. • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates. • Ability to execute tasks assigned with minimum supervision. • Requires great attention to detail and the ability to read mechanical drawings and view CAD models and specifications. • Ability to write procedures and reports • Good communication skills with co-workers, engineering, and various support personnel. • Strong computer software skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. • Must possess a DOE Q-level security clearance. Desired Qualifications: • Modeling experience with SolidWorks. • Experience in the use of statistical tools such as Minitab.
