POSITION TITLE: Clinical Nurse Educator PAY RANGE: $135,200-$170,690 Annually REPORTS TO: Chief Nursing Officer or Designee DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and documenting staff development activities of all employees.  This includes orientation, in-service training, annual competency requirements, and professional development activities. The Clinical Nurse Educator maintains knowledge of, participates in further training provided, and understands the potential risks regarding occupational health hazards (e.g. bloodborne pathogen exposures).   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and implements a personal plan for professional development. Schedules training sessions as needed for orientation of new employees, HWC certification, and other required staff training. Monitors staff completion of mandatory annual competencies, including CPR, HWC, safety review, and code of conduct. Collaborates with administration to assess staff development needs, plan and design training programs to meet identified needs, and evaluate the impact of programs offered. Knowledge of psychiatric service delivery system and treatment methods, with specific knowledge and skills in areas of risk management, infection control, and utilization review. Current knowledge of continuous quality improvement methodology. Knowledge of applicable standards and regulations. Verbal de-escalation and physical intervention program as approved by the CNO.
