Requirements Primary Job Functions: Evaluate and treat patients with a range of ENT conditions. Will perform ENT procedures, such as fiberoptic scope exams, drainage abscesses, control of epistaxis, ear exams, biopsies, tracheostomy care and tracheostomy tube changes, etc. Provide patient services under the direct supervision and responsibility of the supervising staff physicians. Responsible for evaluating patients in a private practice setting, obtaining relevant medical history, performing a thorough ENT exam, ordering appropriate imaging, interpreting tests and developing care plans in collaboration with supervising physicians. Reviews and revises treatment and therapy plans as needed. Administers medications and/or refills according to practice and formulary protocols or upon patient-specific orders from the supervising physician, both orally and in writing on a patients’ records. Orders and collects specimens for routine laboratory tests. Orders appropriate imaging or ancillary services as indicated. Initiates and coordinates patient referrals to other physicians, clinics, and healthcare facilities and community resources. Performs clinical procedures that have been approved by supervising physician without the presence of a supervising physician within established scope of practice guidelines. Completes all medical record documentation as required. Proficient with EMR systems. Ability to build rapport with patients and adapt to new environments. Answers patient messages, calls, and triages. Ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and clinical policies and procedures. All other duties as assigned by Physician or Practice Administrator. Qualifications and Certifications: Graduate of a Physician Assistant Program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. Current unencumbered licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of Pennsylvania required. Must be board certified from the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) at the time of hire and maintain certification throughout employment with Align ENT & Allergy. Prior experience as a Physician Assistant in ENT preferred, will train in ENT specialty if candidate has prior clinical training. Current AHA BLS.
