RIC design build is looking for a Residential Designer with 5+ years of experience to join our team. We design, build and restore both new and historic Richmond homes with a focus on sustainability, detail, and craftsmanship. Previous work experience and professional degree required. Candidate should be proficient with Sketchup, attentive to details and enthusiastic about residential design. Past work experience should include construction document production. The Designer will produce design concepts, develop project designs, and create construction documents for residential projects. Tasks may include: • Document as-built conditions with measurements, photographs and a 3d Sketchup model. • Develop project designs and details. • Produce construction drawings and permit documents. • Develop project specifications, material, and finish selections. Minimum job requirements: • Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design. • 5+ years of experience in a professional design role. • Proficiency in construction document production. • Computer proficiency with an understanding of design programs (SketchUp and Layout or similar) and a willingness to learn new programs aligned with our team’s workflow and digital standards. • Professional, team-oriented collaborator who works well with clients, vendors, subcontractors and members of our design and construction team. Our HQ is based in Richland, WA, however, we also have an office in Nampa and build in the Treasure Valley. Our team designs and constructs quality residential homes from the ground up, and we need a CAD Drafter who understands the big picture. We build homes in the Tri-Cities and Boise areas and take pride in the craftsmanship, design, and experience we provide for each home we build. Overview We are seeking a CAD Drafter to join our team and our small office in Nampa. We are interested in either experienced or fresh-out-of-school candidates. If you are experienced, you can hit the ground running. Otherwise, we'll help guide you with our existing team. This person will be working on drafting plans for both Washington and Idaho. The ideal candidate will be proficient in any CAD software and possess a strong understanding of design principles. We use Chief Architect, however, you don't have to have experience with Chief (if you do, that's a bonus, and let us know). Experience with AutoDesk Revit or other software is fine. We'll teach you Chief Architect, you bring the willingness and ability to learn new software. You'll be creating new floorplans, 3D models/renders, modifying existing plans, and creating permit documents, and field layouts, among others! Other duties may include helping with purchasing, updating, or working on our online site, etc. Responsibilities • Develop detailed 2D and 3D models using Chief Architect. • Produce full plan sets, detail beams/brace walls/footings, ensure IRC & local-code compliance, collaborate on revisions, document drawings. • Revise drawings based on feedback from team members or clients, ensuring timely updates. • Maintain organized documentation of all design files and revisions. • Other duties as needed - sometimes other team members need a helping hand catching up. Duties may include: • Assisting in updating websites and online portals • Purchasing and bid procurement - build scopes of work to define the expected quality of materials for future bidding. • Assisting our project manager with service coordination • In the field Quality Control work Qualifications • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or preferably Chief Architect. • A foundational understanding of spatial awareness when developing or modifying floorplans. • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also managing individual tasks effectively. • Strong communication skills to convey design concepts clearly to team members. • Computer literate with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. • Willing to be flexible and have a great attitude Join us as we push the boundaries of design innovation! Deliver meaningful value to ensure building systems meet project goals, the project owner’s expectations & requirements, and function as intended by the project designers. Input and maintain current information in BMA’s project management database.  Coordinate with internal and external project teams to create all required documentation and ensure that it aligns with BMA’s contractual obligations prevailing code requirements. Read and interpret technical documents including Construction Documents, Shop Drawings, and Project Specifications.  Work in collaboration with project stakeholders, and architecture/engineering/construction professionals to document, observe, and report on the design, construction, and operation of building systems (lighting, HVAC, renewable energy systems, etc…).  Host and attend project meetings as needed. Qualifications: Certification as a Commissioning Agent/Provider (CxA, BCxA) preferred. Construction experience and familiarity with current building technologies/techniques preferred. Excellent time management and project prioritization. Software skills preferred: MS Office365, BlueRithm, Bluebeam Revu,  Growth mindset Technical degree, or other industry specific work experience demonstrating high level of technical capability preferred. Valid Driver's license & access to personal automobile for travel to project sites (company reimbursed mileage). A working knowledge of current codes/standards including California Mechanical Code, California Energy Code,  CALGreen Code, and ASHRAE Commissioning Standards.
