Strong written and oral communication skills are required. Experience with computer applications for spreadsheets, word processing and scheduling is preferred. 4-year degree in Engineering, Construction, Architecture or Business is required. GLR Engineers is seeking structural engineer applicants for a project manager position in our Spokane, WA office. The applicant shall have a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in the field of structural consulting design. Desired experience shall consist of working with multiple types of building materials, project types and the ability to contribute on multiple projects and deadlines. The selected applicant will be expected to produce structural calculations required for permit submittals, work with GLR’s in-house drafting department to produce construction drawings, coordinate with architectural clients and other design team members, and succeed in operating in a team environment. Knowledge of Revit modeling is a plus. Applicant must be self-motivated with a strong drive to learn and expand their knowledge base. Key Responsibilities: MUST be able to Travel, around Texas, TN, AL and FL ( must be open to Nationwide Travel) Complete engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements from start to finish. Develop clear project objectives by reviewing proposals, plans, and consulting with stakeholders and management. Determine project responsibilities by: Identifying project phases and deliverables. Assigning personnel to tasks. Evaluating bids from subcontractors and vendors. Review product design, customer requirements, and performance standards to define project specifications. Prepare technical studies and cost estimates. Confirm product performance through design reviews, analysis, and field testing. Establish and maintain project schedules by calculating time requirements and sequencing activities. Monitor and maintain schedule progress by coordinating tasks and resolving field-level issues. Control project execution by reviewing and adjusting designs, specifications, and work plans. Manage project costs by approving expenditures and overseeing contractor performance and compliance. Prepare regular project status reports with data analysis and actionable recommendations. Enforce site safety and cleanliness in compliance with company procedures and industry regulations. Maintain accurate digital project records and backups using internal software and database tools. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, maintaining the company’s high-quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (project executives, project managers, general superintendents, and field supervisors) for smooth execution and knowledge transfer. Contribute to broader company goals by supporting team initiatives and project success metrics. Requirements Education & Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (required) 2–5+ years of utility-scale solar, renewables, or power generation project experience Spanish-speaking ability is a plus Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience with scheduling tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project OSHA 10/30 certification preferred Valid U.S. driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 100% to project locations Qualifications / Skills: Requirements analysis and specification development Strong design and CAD/CAM circuit design skills Project and construction management expertise Knowledge of construction means and methods, especially in solar or renewable energy Ability to drive process improvement and ensure technical compliance Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills Familiarity with site safety protocols and OSHA regulations Technical understanding of electrical/mechanical systems used in solar construction Supervision of subcontractors and field staff in active project environments Proficiency in CAD, AutoCAD, and project design tools

Warfel Construction Company is currently searching for a Project Engineer to join our fast-paced, team-oriented organization in Winchester, VA. Successful candidates will possess high-energy and strong initiative. Project Engineers can expect to work directly with Project Managers and Superintendents by managing daily tasks, overseeing communication between internal and external team members, and managing submittal review and processing. In order to be effective and efficient, frequent visits to the jobsite throughout the week will be required. Requirements Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Keeps in contact with the jobsite supervisor and Field Engineer via the phone and site visits to discuss problems, concerns, and a general update each day. Regular visits to the jobsite are required based on project status and Client requirements. Prepared change orders for input into Procore Construction Software to update purchase orders and contract amount to subcontractors. Performs project procurement (writing scope sheets, negotiating with vendors) as reviewed with Sr./Project Manager. Reviews and approves RFI’s generated by Field Engineer or writes and disseminates RFI questions and responses themselves depending on responsibilities. Prepares submittals to send out to the architect/engineer (reviews them for compliance with the specifications) in Procore for review and approval of material. May delegate some submittals review to Field Engineer and track their progress with completion of submittals. Tracks returned submittals and comments on the submittals for completion/follow-up. Conducts subcontractor bi-weekly meetings and pre-installation meetings. Prepares agendas for meetings. Prepares owner meeting minutes for Project Manager review and reviews Field Engineer drafts of subcontractor meeting minutes. May require additional functions as a result of project contracts or Client requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required  1 – 2 years’ of construction management related experience working on full duration of projects (may vary depending on schedule of assigned projects).
