As a Mad Scientist, you will lead students through an inquiry-based discovery method involving instructor demonstrations, hands-on activities, and amazing take-home projects that will illustrate how science affects the world around us. Mad Science is the world's leading provider of fun science programs for elementary-aged children. This is a part-time position and is somewhat seasonal. Pay for all Areas of Business (AOB) is hourly - including set-up and clean-up time. Starting pay is $22.00-$26.00 per hour DOE.  We are looking for HIGHLY ENERGETIC, DYNAMIC AND CONFIDENT individuals to join our growing team to conduct exciting science, engineering, and technology programs. Responsibilities: - Facilitating day camps, in-person workshops, and after-school science enrichment programs for children from preschool through elementary school - Deliver high-energy, part entertainment, part education, hands-on programs that meet for one hour each week for approximately 8-10 weeks. - Drive to various locations across Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. - Enjoy teaching young children the art of science! - Attend paid training sessions virtually or at our office. - Attend the mandatory Friday Staff Meeting every week (paid). - Be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. - Be on time for all scheduled activities. - Adhere to strict safety and cleanliness guidelines. Qualifications: - Must be available a MINIUMUM of three consistent weekday afternoons, 12-5pm. While this is a part-time position, it is critical that you are able to commit to the length of any given program (school season, camp session, after-school program, etc.), and that you are able to give us steady weekly availability. - Must have a personal vehicle as you will be transporting equipment and conducting programs across Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. - Must be available for mandatory Friday meeting, 11am-12pm - Some experience teaching/ working with groups of elementary-age (4-12) children (such as an after-school teacher or camp counselor). - Minimum of 1 year of college suggested. Degrees and/or graduate degrees are a plus. - Maintain a fun, flexible, and outgoing personality!
