Moonbug brands extend far beyond the screen to include streaming music, toys, games, books, live events, and even theme park exhibits.   Moonbug is part of Candle Media, an independent, creator-friendly home for cutting-edge, high-quality, category-defining brands and franchises.  The Role: This role sits within the Production department and is embedded closely with the Development team to support the end-to-end planning and execution of Moonbug’s preschool content development pipeline. Acting as a key operational partner, you will ensure all new and existing development projects—from CoComelon and Blippi to emerging originals and formats—stay on schedule, on budget, and in sync across global teams. Your focus will be on tracking and maintaining development schedules, supporting cross-functional communication, and building solid production foundations to enable a smooth handoff into full production. This includes working with internal teams and external studios to create accurate budgets and timelines, managing essential documentation and spend tracking, and ensuring strong coordination across time zones. This is a full-time, on-site role based in our Los Angeles office. Responsibilities: Work within the production and development teams to generate budgets and timelines for new shows. Based within the production team you will work with the animation and live action teams to build and manage budgets, schedules, and resourcing plans for new formats and original IP (including both CGI and live-action projects). Collaborate closely with the development team to ensure all timelines and schedules are effectively managed across all development projects. Track progress and maintain visibility across projects, proactively identifying risks and keeping things on track. Act as the central hub for communication across studios and departments, ensuring alignment across development, production, and commercial teams. Partner with our London-based animation team to align on budget strategy and execution. Liaise with external studios and production partners to gather and manage production budgets and timelines. Oversee contracting, spend tracking, and raising purchase orders. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (creative, legal, commercial) to facilitate talent engagement and ensure smooth transitions from development to production. Support the commercial team in preparing for external pitches and discussions. Interpret creative briefs and pitches to accurately scope and resource production needs within the Moonbug format and scope of work for internal and external partners to respond to. Present schedules and budgets clearly to internal stakeholders, adapting information for different audiences. Be flexible and responsive when working with global teams across time zones. Be organized and adaptable with great communication skills. Requirements 7+ years of hands-on experience in animation and/or content production (experience in both CGI and live action preferred). Proven success in budgeting, scheduling, and production planning, particularly within the development phase. Experience with short form, long form, and series formats. Experience with external vendors, studios, and cross-functional teams. Strong understanding of production workflows, particularly for animated content. Highly organized, solutions-oriented, and skilled at identifying and resolving bottlenecks. Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit. Able to manage complex projects and timelines with minimal oversight. Comfortable working across time zones and adapting to evolving priorities. Bonus: Experience in podcasts or other emerging content formats.
