Shift: 2nd Shift, 40-50 per week, OT as business needs Location: Madison Facility, Panning Area Reports To: Pablo Molina, Senior Production Manager Summary The 2nd Shift Zone Lead is responsible for leading production activities, ensuring that daily goals are met efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with company standards. This role supervises and trains production staff, coordinates shift operations, ensures adherence to safety and food quality protocols, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. The Zone Lead will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain operational excellence in the Panning Area. Responsibilities · Supervise day-to-day operations in the Panning Area on the 2nd shift, ensuring production schedules are met. · Monitor and ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, GMP, and safety regulations (OSHA). · Lead and develop a high-performing team, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and conducting performance reviews. · Maintain optimal staffing levels to meet production and distribution demands. · Coordinate with other departments (QA/QC, Scheduling, Procurement, etc.) to ensure seamless workflow and product quality. · Serve as a key point of contact for functional leadership to resolve production-related issues promptly. · Oversee equipment operation, ensuring SOPs and preventive maintenance protocols are followed. · Manage and report daily production metrics, inventory planning, and payroll hours. · Champion a strong Food Safety Culture; actively engage in audits and corrective actions. · Train team members on equipment, processes, and safety practices to foster ongoing professional development. · Implement continuous improvement practices to drive efficiency and reduce operational costs. · Support environmental health and safety (EHS) compliance initiatives. Requirements · Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Management, Food Science, or a related technical field (required). · Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or food production environment. · Forklift, Bendi, and pallet mover certification – preferred. · Strong understanding of GMP, Food Safety standards, and OSHA regulations. · Proven experience in employee development, goal setting, and performance management. · Ability to work effectively across departments and communicate clearly with leadership. · Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. · Proficient in using production systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and related software. · Able to work in a fast-paced environment, including standing, lifting, and operating machinery.
