Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced Transmission Builder to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for the reassembly of automatic transmissions for domestic vehicle brands such as Chevy, Dodge, and Ford. You will play a critical part in our remanufacturing process, ensuring each unit is built to precise specifications and tested for long-term performance and reliability. This position is paid at a piece rate, and our builders earn between $60,000 and $100,000 annually. Requirements Responsibilities: Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble transmissions following established procedures and guidelines. Identify and diagnose transmission issues, ensuring accurate and efficient repairs. Use specialized tools and equipment to assemble, align, and adjust transmission components. Conduct thorough quality control checks to ensure the precision and reliability of assembled transmissions. Detect and rectify any defects or malfunctions during the assembly process. Perform functional tests to validate the proper functioning of transmissions before installation. Collaborate with other technicians, mechanics, and team members to troubleshoot complex transmission problems. Maintain detailed records of all transmissions worked on, documenting assembly processes, parts used, and any issues encountered. Stay updated on the latest advancements in transmission technology and industry best practices. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment. Comply with all relevant regulations, including environmental and occupational safety standards. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required: In-depth understanding of automatic and manual transmission systems, torque converters, gears, clutches, and hydraulic systems. Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot transmission issues accurately. Thorough knowledge of transmission assembly processes, including aligning and adjusting components to meet specifications. Familiarity with occupational safety standards and environmental regulations applicable to automotive repair and assembly. Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment required for transmission assembly and repair. Exceptional attention to detail to ensure precision in assembly and identify any defects or malfunctions. Efficient time management skills to meet deadlines and complete transmission assembly and repair tasks within specified timeframes. A minimum of 5 years of previous hands-on experience building and tearing down transmissions (required).
