Description

Responsible for matching and applying paint to various surfaces, completing touch ups, and coordinating large painting projects by using painting equipment and painting practices currently in use in the profession. Position Type: Part-Time Hours: 20 Hours Per Week Salary: $18.00 to $23.00 Per Hour Top Responsibilities: Meet with clients to discuss color and finish options. Perform routine inspections of properties for general upkeep. Maintain and update painting logs. Accurately estimate time and material costs. Select and purchase paint and supplies from vendors. Prep painting project sites by moving furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the project. Prep the surface by scraping, sanding, priming and sealing surfaces prior to painting. Protect all nearby furnishings and building materials before and during every painting job, including carpets, cabinetry, outlet covers, and lighting fixtures. Apply paint to various surfaces using either brushes, rollers, or airless paint sprayer. Clean and maintain all painting tools and equipment. Perform thorough site cleanup which includes removing debris, broken glass, putty or plastic. Replace window and door hardware as well as glass for windows, doors, and light fixtures. Operate appropriate aerial lifts and forklifts as needed to perform duties of the job. Attend and complete safety trainings related to occupational work conditions and safety hazards as required by the Facilities Department. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing assigned tasks as requested. JOB SUMMARY Prince Industries is currently seeking an experience Powder Coater Painter for our Batavia, IL location. This role is on first shift from 6am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday. The Powder Coater/Painter performs daily routine tasks in the Paint Line area by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures: safety glasses, shoes, ear protection, gloves, lifting guidelines, interlocks, etc. as designated in specific work area assigned. Relies on specific instructions and pre-existing guidelines to perform functions of the job. Carefully reviews and follows all special powder coating instructions. Loads and unloads materials or parts from paint line to specified area. Examines workpiece and dislodges or removes debris from objects. Fills tanks with water or acid to specified level. Mask and Plug parts that require based on the print that calls them out. Handles parts in order to maintain surface finish and part integrity. Measures or weighs out and pours specified quantity of chemical into large tank containers. Completes all necessary and required paperwork as relates to the job. (i.e. tags). Carefully places, lays or stack objects when coming off paint line. Moves finished containers of painted parts to the next designated operation. Transports materials to and from designated location using pallet jack or other authorized moving equipment as needed. Maintains good housekeeping in assigned work area.
