It can also be used as an office conference table. You're only purchasing the table. No chairs are included with the sale. This table was manufactured by the Skovby Mobler / Skovby Mobelfabrik Furniture Company in Denmark. This is model number RS18T. This table is from the Scandinavian mid-century-modern (MCM) genre of furniture, first made popular in the 1950s and 1960s. This particular table was constructed in the mid-1980s and purchased by my mother from the Scandinavian Design retail furniture shop. My mother is now elderly and recently moved into the my sister's place. So this table is no longer being used. The table is constructed of two (2) L-shaped legs, a round tabletop, and two (2) removable rectangular leaves. Picture 24 shows the table completely dis-assembled into these individual components. The round tabletop and rectangular leaves are constructed of genuine teak wood veneer over MDF. The legs are constructed of solid teakwood through and through. The tabletop has a metal frame underneath and is secured to the legs using long metal bolts. This results in a very sturdy table. But this also results in a very heavy table that weighs more than 100 pounds (with both leaves in place). The round tabletop measures about 48" in diameter and 3" thick. Each L-shaped leg measures about 20" wide, 20" deep, and 26" tall. The tabletop rests 29" above the ground, which is standard dining table height. If you want to add leaves, you simply pull out each of the two equal halves of the round tabletop, which are held in place using a heavy-duty metal frame. Pulling apart the tabletop results in a middle gap for you to insert one or both leaves. Each leaf measures 48" deep, 19.5" wide, and 3" thick. Without the leaves, the entire table measures about 29" tall, 48" deep, and 48" wide. Pictures 2 to 8 show this smaller version of the table without the leaves. With a single leaf in place, the entire table measures about 29" tall, 48" deep, and 67.5" wide. In this version, the tabletop is oval-shaped. Pictures 9 to 15 show this medium version of the table with one leaf added. With both leaves in place, the entire table measures about 29" tall, 48" deep, and 87" wide. In this version, the tabletop is an elongated oval-shaped. Pictures 16 to 21 show this large version of the table with both leaves added. Structurally, the entire table is in incredibly robust condition, with no wood bending, warping, or fatigue. The legs attach to the tabletop with incredible sturdiness. This is one solid table. Cosmetically, everything is also in excellent condition, especially considering it's several decades old. The teak wood grain on the top tabletop surface is incredibly beautiful. Pictures 7, 14, 20, and 22 show the tabletop surface teak wood grain. Cosmetically, there are some extremely tiny surface scratches on some portions of the tabletop from normal wear. But most of these these scratches are not particularly noticeable. One very important thing to note is that there are some water stains / spots on some portions of the tabletop surface. In the right light, these surface water stains are noticeable. These water spots are the result of a loss of surface lacquer. It may be possible to remove these surface spots using teak cleaner. Or you could also sand and re-lacquer the tabletop surface. You can pick up from my house near the San Jose Airport. Given its size and weight, you'll need an SUV or truck for transport. Or I can provide FREE delivery to your front ground-floor entryway if you live within 20 miles of my house in San Jose (zip code 95126). Or I could charge a small fee if you live further away.
