About the Role: The QA Supervisor is responsible for overseeing quality control processes, managing inspectors and testers, and ensuring all transformers meet stringent compliance and performance standards before they are shipped to customers. This role involves leading a team of quality professionals, ensuring calibration of shop test equipment, and working closely with engineering, production, and leadership teams to drive a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.   Key Responsibilities: Supervise and direct Quality Inspectors and Testers at the Panama City facility, ensuring adherence to quality assurance protocols and safety standards. Oversee inspection and testing processes to verify transformers meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality benchmarks. Manage the calibration and maintenance of shop test equipment to ensure accurate testing results. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for non-conforming products, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and monitor defect trends. Work closely with engineering and production teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality and efficiency. Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001, ANSI, and utility-specific transformer quality guidelines. Maintain detailed records and reports on quality performance metrics, including first-pass yield rates, defects per unit, and corrective actions taken. Conduct internal audits to monitor quality control effectiveness and regulatory adherence. Develop and implement employee training programs on quality control methods, process improvement techniques, and safety compliance. Foster a culture of accountability and quality awareness, ensuring employees understand their role in maintaining product integrity. Required Qualifications: Some college coursework preferred (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality-related fields a plus). 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in quality assurance or quality control. Prior leadership experience supervising inspectors, testers, or quality teams. Strong knowledge of transformer testing processes, electrical inspection methods, and industry regulations. Experience with calibration of test equipment and maintaining compliance with ISO/ANSI standards. Proficiency in root cause analysis (RCA), CAPA, and failure analysis methodologies. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems (QMS).   Work Environment & Physical Demands: Manufacturing floor and office-based environment. Exposure to high-voltage testing areas, machinery, and production operations. Standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.) required as part of job duties. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on specifying and selecting field instrumentation for complex process facilities. This position is not control system programming (DeltaV, Rockwell, etc.), but instead requires deep technical expertise in field devices, valves, transmitters, and Rosemount instrumentation. Translate process information into ISA specification sheets for instrumentation devices.
