MACHINE OPERATOR - ENTRY LEVEL POSITION (Daytona Beach)

Apex Grinding, Inc., a growing Daytona Beach manufacturer is seeking candidates for a General Shop Help position. Apex Grinding offers precision cylindrical grinding services to customer in the Medical, Defense, Aerospace, Energy, Electronics, and Automotive industries. Using precision machine tools, we grind raw materials, shafts, pins, blanks, tools, and other components to customer specifications. Founded in 2018, our owners have a combined 50+ years of experience in the industry. This is an entry level position however the position is also open to those of more experience, preferably with manual machine tools such as lathes or mills in a job shop or tool room type of environment. JOB DESCRIPTION - The Shop Helper / Trainee will be responsible for operation of 1 or more precision grinding machine tools under supervision, as well as other duties, as necessary. PRIMARY DUTIES - Operate machine per supervisor instructions Read drawings and work instructions Use micrometers, indicating micrometers, gauge blocks, profilometers, calipers, and other inspection equipment to check your work Keep work station clean and organized SECONDARY DUTIES - Clean and maintain facility and equipment Unpack and package jobs Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS - The right candidate will have a close attention to detail and a positive attitude Must have good eye sight, corrected or otherwise Must be able to regularly lift up to 30lbs.
