Summary Under minimum supervision, operates and follows instructions to operate the machines in a safe and efficient manner. Monitor the operations of the machines and notify the supervisor if there are any problems. Visually inspect parts produced and determine if they meet quality standards. Complete documentation on defective parts. Essential Duties • Operator molding and other production machines in a safe and efficient manner, notifying the lead or supervisor if there are any problems. Some troubleshooting skills are required. • Visually inspect parts and determine if they meet the acceptable quality limits. Conduct quality checks using measuring equipment. • Package parts as specified to ensure proper and safe handling of the product. • Log all rejects on the Attribute Charts. • Review the operator inspection procedure before taking over any job. • Label all boxes after packaging to ensure proper handling of parts. • Ability to use basic measuring Equipment. • Degate and trim parts as required using secondary machinery to accomplish. • Ability to perform secondary operations such as gluing, welding, trimming, and some assembly. • Ability to use part count scale. Required Education and Experience • High school diploma or GED equivalent. • Knowledge of various measuring equipment. • 6 months of consistent and recent work history Required Skills • Strong written/verbal communication • Good decision-making skills • Ability to work under time constraints with changing priorities. • Regular and predictable attendance. • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time. • Basic math skills. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. • Ability to work overtime as needed. • Basic PC and internet skills. PRIMARY DUTIES: Assemble and test large industrial products from bare parts, in "job shop" and production environment. This includes mechanical connections, supports and structures, and control panels. Build custom air compressor, vacuum pump, blower, and pump assembly packages. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Some experience to build and disassemble an engine or machine • Electronic Panel Assembly experience preferred but not required • Read & interpret assembly drawings • Mechanical skills • Physically able (lifting of 50 lbs occasionally) • Work well independently/self-starter and with a team DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Such duties include, but are not limited to: • Assemble mechanical assemblies; such as air ends, blowers, and other compressed air system components, working on a shop floor. • Inspects components for proper assembly, specifications, fit and finish. • Plans assembly and positions components according to the knowledge of unit being assembled and through the interpretation of engineering drawings, layout drawings or electrical schematics. • Remove small quantities of metal with hand files, scrapers or machine tools to produce close fit between parts. • Bend and install tubing and fittings for oil lubrication/cooling systems. • Align couplings and subassemblies to the gearbox or other components. • Operate drill presses, milling machines, lathes, hydraulic presses, welders and other shop equipment to assist in assembly operations. • Test completed assemblies for proper operation, temperature, vibration and noise levels and complete required written reports. Troubleshoot, repair or replace faulty components. • Provide feedback in regards to design improvements, updates, and procedures, verbally and in writing, as required. • Work in conjunction with Floor Supervisor to ensure assemblies meet design parameters. • Perform workstation and shop clean-up duties as assigned. She/he performs inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures according to the applicable instructions on maintenance and operation services, and on products during their manufacturing process. S/he validates industrial services control plans. These control plans are written in close relationship with PME (Process & Manufacturing Engineering) teams. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES The Industrial Quality Inspector assists in developing and implementation of quality management system QMS/ QAPP. Quality Specialist will work to continuously improve the existing quality documentation and performing quality assessments/inspections and audits of other departments and quality processes to ensure that requirements are being implemented and followed.
