CARFAIR – MOLD MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST (STARTING $22.09) Carfair Composites is a leader in fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) design and composites technology and has dedicated team members located in facilities between Winnipeg, MB (Canada), St. Cloud, MN (USA), and Anniston, AL (USA), Wausaukee, WI (USA) and Gillett, WI (USA).   POSITION SUMMARY: The Mold Maintenance Specialist will support the manufacturing operation by repairing and maintaining molds to ensure quality parts are produced. WHAT YOU WILL DO: ·         Ability to complete proper repair of parting lines (FRP/ALUM). ·         Ability to complete proper repair of and around inserts. ·         Have knowledge of how improper sanding creates a die lock. ·         Determine and resolve why issues occurred on the mold/back shell. ·         Ability to perform tape test. ·         Ability to perform proper repairs for type of hole crack scratch etc… (glass, bondo, duraglass etc…) ·         Ability to properly mix all items used in repair (gel, resin, bondo, epoxy). ·         Ability to properly sand and buff using current systems (EX…3M, 180,240,400 etc…). ·         Ability to check/repair/replace gaskets on tooling. ·          Ability to redo scribe lines on molds/back shell if worn but visible. ·         Ability to maintain mold boards. ·         Ability to know how and when to hand sand product. ·         Knowledge of cure time before sand/clean seal waxing etc… ·         Utilizes time and skills effectively. ·         Produce quality products at or above expected rate. ·         Uses safety guidelines and proper PPE to protect self and reminds others of importance. ·         Maintain all necessary documentation related to position.    WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: Prior experience in composites or similar industry preferred Strong problem-solving ability including troubleshooting and resolving issues Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time Physically capable of performing lifting, bending & twisting from the waist Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task production environment Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to organize and prioritize workload Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment Ability to work in harmony with others while maintaining a positive and professional attitude with overall success in mind Evidence of a satisfactory work record including performance, attendance and teamwork Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with issues logically and within the company guidelines ·         Pays attention to detail. ·         Can identify correct material to use to produce a quality part. ·         Can accurately use all gauges, fixtures, and locators related to position. ·         Uses knowledge of all tools and equipment related to position to replicate customer specifications. ·         Uses knowledge of root cause of quality issues that arise to help eliminate defect & uses proper procedure to fix defect. We are looking for a skilled CNC Mill and Lathe Machinist to join our team. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and maintain CNC mills and lathes to produce precision parts. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sample parts, and engineering specifications to determine machining operations. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using applied mathematics and measuring instruments. Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and tight tolerances. Maintain all measuring and inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Troubleshoot and make adjustments to ensure machines run efficiently and produce accurate parts. Follow safety protocols and keep work areas clean and organized. Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a CNC machinist (mill and/or lathe). Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings. Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, gauges). Solid understanding of machining practices, speeds, feeds, and tooling. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred Knowledge of multiple materials (steel, aluminum, stainless, plastics, etc.).
