About Spate Spate predicts the next big trends in beauty and wellness by analyzing billions of consumer signals. Top brands like Estée Lauder, L’Oréal, and Unilever use our insights to stay ahead of what consumers will want next. As we scale our platform, we’re looking for a driven and proactive Junior Account Executive to help us expand our client base — someone who thrives at both prospecting and closing. About the Role As our Junior AE, you’ll be responsible for managing the entire sales funnel — from outbound prospecting to closing smaller deals. You’ll own outreach, build relationships, pitch our product, and grow revenue directly. This role is perfect for someone early in their sales career who wants to sharpen both hunting and closing skills in a fast-paced, trend-driven environment. We’re a lean team. You’ll be hands-on, creative, and empowered to experiment and iterate quickly. Your hustle, curiosity about beauty and wellness, and drive to win will directly shape Spate’s growth trajectory. Responsibilities: Prospect & Qualify: Build and manage your own top-of-funnel pipeline — researching, identifying, and reaching out to high-potential prospects in beauty, wellness, and CPG Pitch & Close: Lead sales conversations from discovery to deal closure for small-to-mid size accounts with autonomy Outbound Strategy: Develop and refine outbound messaging, tactics, and tools to boost conversion and connect authentically with our audience Client Understanding: Stay current on beauty and wellness trends and use them to tailor outreach and conversations CRM & Forecasting: Maintain clean pipeline data, track deal progress, and support forecasting/reporting efforts Cross-Team Collaboration: Share learnings with product and marketing to improve collateral, campaigns, and product-market fit Requirements Minimum Qualifications: 1–2 years experience in sales, business development, or account management — ideally in SaaS, insights, marketing, or agency settings Track record of outbound activity and some experience closing or contributing to closed deals Excellent written and verbal communication skills — clear, persuasive, and audience-aware Highly self-motivated and organized; comfortable working autonomously and wearing multiple hats Natural curiosity and enthusiasm for beauty, wellness, and cultural trends Authorized to work in the U.S. Bonus Points For: Familiarity with sales tools like Hubspot, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc. Experience selling to marketers, brand managers, or consumer insights teams Background in a startup, scrappy team, or fast-growth environment Personal interest in beauty, skincare, wellness, or consumer lifestyle What Success Looks Like You consistently generate qualified outbound opportunities weekly You close smaller deals end-to-end and contribute meaningfully to monthly revenue targets You identify new patterns, strategies or opportunities and proactively present them to the Sales Team Lead You become a trusted voice to prospects by understanding their category and speaking their language Benefits Spate offers: Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision) Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays) Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity) Hybrid Work: You would be expected to come to the NY office twice a week, but have the flexibility for occasional remote work during the year with the approval of your manager. Salary for this role: $90k - $100k (salary + OTE bonus) About Spate At Spate, we use data science to predict the next big consumer trend in beauty, personal care, wellness, and food & beverage. Spate was founded in 2018 by Yarden Horwitz & Olivier Zimmer, two ex-Googlers who led the trendspotting division at Google and uncovered trends such as turmeric, cold brew, and face masks. Spate has been funded by the prestigious Y Combinator incubator and Initialized Capital. We currently have ~180 clients in the U.S., mainly in the beauty space from direct-to-consumer brands to big names such as L’Oréal, Estée Lauder, Unilever.   As two ex-Googlers with a passion for using data to spot new patterns in consumer behavior, and we have made it our mission to build the world’s greatest consumer trends prediction platform of all time. And not just because we want to be trendy, but because we want to help brands get better at giving consumers what they really want.  Brands waste over $200BN every year due to product launch failures and inventory waste. By spotting Turmeric, we were able to tell brands to stop wasting money on kale products and provide consumers with glorious golden milk lattes instead - because that’s what consumers want. How do we do this? We tap into publicly available consumer data (anonymous and aggregated) to identify interesting shifts in consumer behavior. We leverage the latest available technology in ML to solve problems in ways that have never been explored before. Why Spate? Join a well-funded company that is working with the top brands in consumer goods Work directly with the founders to set the direction of the company Grow in a fast-paced environment Always be up-to-date on the latest trends! We enjoy a casual atmosphere, but our culture is about getting things done. We are passionate yet pragmatic when it comes to solving problems in a fast-paced environment. Our standards are high, but we thrive on working with people we respect and can learn from. We’re flexible on work styles, as long as everyone is getting their work done - and getting it done well. We are an equal opportunity employer where our diversity and inclusion are central pillars of our company strategy. We look for applicants who understand, embrace, and thrive in a multicultural and increasingly globalized world. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We're excited to find a Junior Account Executive who is passionate about working in a fast pace environment, sales, and consumer trends that is ready to make a meaningful impact at Spate. If you meet the criteria above, please apply to join our team and help shape the future of our company.
