Description

"LOOKING FOR KIND SOULS TO FOSTER OR ADOPT A SMALL HOMELESS CAT FAMILY" I am reaching out with a heavy heart, yet hopeful. There is a small family of 3 homeless cats: a grandmother, a mother, and a kitten. I'm able to pet 2 cats; they are friendly and playful. They desperately need a safe place to live. They have survived together against the odds, but their time is running out. A landowner who hates cats and wants them removed immediately, and a cold, wet winter is on its way. These cats are a beautiful mix of Bombay black and Norwegian Forest cat. Sleek, mysterious coats with a hint of wild elegance. They carry both the spirits of resilience and the quiet, friendly softness of cats who long for warmth, safety, and love. For the past eight months or so, I have been feeding them and making sure they have water every day. In that time, they've become my friends. The kitten will play with me for hours. Such love they give back. They are not just feral shadows anymore. They are friendly, playful cats wirh so much personality. The kitten, especially, would walk right into a home and never look back if given a chance. Right now, this family is living in a large parking lot behind food carts and a restaurant off Pacific Hwy and 72nd Ave in Tigard, next to the Red Rock Creek wetlands. They make their beds in piles of rocks and blackberry bushes, which gives them limited shelter. It's smart survival, but it's not safety. Coyotes have dens in the area, you have homeless camps in the area with unruly dogs, cars, and trucks, also now skunks to add to the danger level. Horrible way for any cat to live, every day these cats are at risk. They have stuck together through hardship, protecting and comforting one another in the only world they've ever known. But life on the streets is cruel; this family deserves more than just survival. They deserve a chance heal, be cared for, and to finally know what it feels like to belong. The sad reality is that there are no shelters or sanctuaries for feral and stray cats in our area. The process to get them rescued is complicated, and TNR ( trap-neuter-return ) programs set up for cats to be released back to the same area they were trapped. But these cats cannot return because of its dangers and the fact that the landowner hates cats and they are not welcome back. One wonderful group, Meow Village, does help by placing cats on farms, people with barns and large yards to help cats become working barn cats. Love this! They are fantastic people, but because of the thousands of feral homeless cats, the waitlist is many months. So I will be on that waitlist and reaching out myself to find them a home ASAP. I will be working with Meow Village so they can screen all people who apply to my post. I will pay all of the adoption fees and other expenses. If you or someone you know can help give these cats a new beginning. Through fostering, adoption, or farm placement, please reach out. Together, we can turn their story from one of struggle into one of love, safety, and second chances. "PLEASE SHARE THIS POST SO IT FINDS THE RIGHT PERSON - YOU NEVER KNOW WHOSE LIFE THEY MIGHT HELP"
