JLA International, Inc., a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a Sample Prep Technician position at its facility in Samson, AL. Ideal candidates will possess the following: - A high school diploma or GED (required) - Basic math skills - Good attitude and willingness to work with others - Good communication and organization skills - Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory - Ability to follow written directions - Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs above waist level Sample Prep Technician duties include: sample preparation, sample sorting and log-in, performing specific sample testing steps (under supervision), transcribing results, data entry, inventory control, washing glassware, general laboratory cleaning, and other duties as assigned. This is a full-time position and is eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. The laboratory operates weekends, so candidates must be willing to work some weekends. Two entry level positions are available in a facility manufacturing human medicines and the materials that go into them. We are a small startup contract manufacturer of medicines. The responsibilities assigned to you on a day-to-day basis will vary, so you will gain experience with many aspects of pharmaceutical manufacturing. Working schedule may vary and is 40-hours per week with opportunities for overtime. Depending on the needs of the organization you may be asked to: 1. Work in an ISO7 cleanroom to manufacture medicines in strictly controlled processes. 2. Work directly with natural products preparing them for processing. 3. Operate process equipment including biosafety cabinets, heat transfer units, automated filling machines, and Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) units. 4. Collect samples and testing materials to determine adherence to established specifications. 5. Maintain warehousing and inventory controls. 6. Clean equipment and facilities 7. Other tasks as necessary Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Work in a safe manner - Accurately follow written instructions - Ability to legibly document information on established worksheets - Perform basic math functions (Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) - Reliable attendance - Think proactively - Ability to stand or walk for an 8-hour shift - Ability to lift 25 pounds Preferred Skills and Abilities: - Experience with Word Processing and authoring instructions and reports - Troubleshoot equipment and processes so that solutions can be proposed Education and Experience Required: High School diploma, GED or higher Desired: Experience in a regulated environment This is an hourly 1099 position.
