Laboratory Chemist - Diamond Bar Sierra Cybernetics is seeking a LABORATORY CHEMIST to work for us supporting our Diamond Bar client The Air Quality Management District (AQMD). You will work in the agency’s air quality laboratory and may be called upon to assist in all laboratory departments or with the laboratory’s field work. May conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical analyses of air samples, using a variety of techniques, procedures and instrumentation, including Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC), Gas Chromatography/Flame Ionization Detector (GC/FID), Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS), Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP/MS), Ion Chromatography (IC), Proton Transfer Reaction Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (PTR-MS), and spectroscopic methods to evaluate air quality samples for types and concentrations of contaminants present. May assist with other laboratory duties as needed. This assignment is expected to last approximately 6 months with a possibility to extend up to 12 months. Your schedule is expected to be four 10-hour days (7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.), Tuesday through Friday or Wednesday through Saturday fully on-site in Diamond Bar. Open to US citizens, green card holders, or H1-B visa holders. EDUCATION • BS IN CHEMISTRY IS REQUIRED, from an accredited US college or university, preferably with an emphasis in analytical chemistry or instrumental analysis. EXPERIENCE • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical analyses using a variety of techniques, procedures and instrumentation. • Knowledge of and experience with chromatographic, spectroscopic and/or mass spectrometric methods is highly desired • Ability to manage multiple tasks, while adhering to chain-of-custody and documentation requirements is critical. • Candidates with the most directly-related or transferable professional experience will be given highest consideration.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Northwestern’s ADAPT Lab is looking for individuals to participate in a paid research study on information processing. You may be eligible if you are ages 15-34, located in the U.S., and are: - Feeling confused about what is real or imaginary - Feeling like you are not in control of your own thoughts - Feeling suspicious or paranoid - Hearing or seeing things that may not be there - Having trouble communicating clearly An initial screening will be done. Then, if the study is found a good fit, you will be invited to participate in the main study. The study consists of 1-2 visits, the first of which will take 3-4 hours and the second will take 1-2 hours each. You will be paid $25 per hour up to $187 for your time and participation.
