We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Retail Construction Specialist to join our traveling studio build team. This role is responsible for constructing and installing visually striking photography sets across our North American studio locations. Key Responsibilities: Build, assemble, and install scenic environments, set pieces, and studio features according to design specifications. Interpret technical drawings, sketches, and design notes to execute high-quality scenic builds. Travel extensively with the studio build crew to set up new studio locations or refresh existing ones. Operate and maintain carpentry tools, power equipment, and construction materials with safety and precision. Ensure all scenic elements meet structural, aesthetic, and safety standards. Work closely with design, photography, and operations teams to deliver seamless, on-brand studio environments. Participate in site prep, deliveries, installations, and tear-downs as needed. Maintain organized job sites and uphold safety practices at all times. Requirements Qualifications: 3+ years of professional scenic or finish carpentry experience. Proficiency with power tools, woodworking techniques, and shop equipment. Strong ability to read and execute technical drawings and build plans. Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and work in varied environments. Experience with set builds, interiors, or commercial installations is a strong asset. Valid passport and ability to travel extensively across North America. Comfortable with long hours and a rotating schedule (3 weeks on, 1 week off). Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills: Background in photography, events, or visual merchandising environments. Experience working with foam, metal, and scenic finishes (painting, texturing). Basic knowledge of rigging, lighting, or electrical systems is a plus. Inspecting all scaffold components prior to assembly. Build and breakdown scaffolds, install ladders, walkways and handrails. Clean and prepare construction sites, including removing debris and materials. Load and unload equipment and materials form truck and vehicles. Study plans and equipment lists prior to on-site installation. Ensure appropriate safety measures are followed; including wearing and use of safety equipment. Maintain fall protection requirements while erecting / dismantling scaffolds. Make sure that tools and equipment are cleaned and maintained properly at the end of each shift. Ensure full client satisfaction in relation to the quality of service and finished product within planned time schedules Other duties as required. You can expect to see much of the work we completed while watching a game or event on tv. Crews which you will be assigned to will be no more than 5 employees and will travel from job to job together as a crew. Full Time, Consistent and Year-Round Work without having to wonder when or if the next assignment is coming. Work Environment is generally outdoors so you will be in the sun and fresh air while building. Overnight Travel will be the routine and you can be away from home for 90+ days at a time. Travel Accommodations and hotel lodging will be arranged and provided by InProduction. We stay two crew members to a room. Hotel rooms will usually have small kitchens so you can prepare meals. Execution of field work involved in asbestos abatement projects while under direct or indirect supervision. Direct and supervise project-assigned labor forces including the following job classification: foremen, equipment operators, hazardous waste technicians, and emergency response crews etc. to maintain competent completion of their duties. Correct completion of all job-specific, employee-related MER paperwork including Timesheets, Daily Work Reports, Driver’s Logs and Daily Tailgate Safety Meeting Forms. Understand and enforce project’s detailed scope-of-work to optimize strict compliance with contract documents, project schedules, and corporate policies and procedures. Under general direction from Logistics Manager, Program/Project Manager and/or Division Manager, forecast and organize the cost-effective utilization of project personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to minimize unneeded project cost resulting in higher profit. Work safely and ensure that the crew is working safely during all phases of performing the job duties required in the field. Ability to perform work inside areas of varying dimensions, involving squatting and crawling for possible extended periods. Ability to follow directions; read/speak and understand English; read and understand common danger placards / labels and hazardous warning literature including site safety plans. The ability to safely drive and perform safety checks on all vehicles for which licensed. Project work may require out of town travel for two weeks or more. Must be able to understand and comply with company and client safety standards. Due to the diversity of both scheduled and non-scheduled projects, physical demands, and environmental conditions vary significantly depending on the project. Work outside year-round in all types of weather. May work in environments that are extreme in nature like environmental conditions such as heat, cold, heights, hazardous chemicals, loud noises, dangerous equipment, long hours etc. May be exposed to varying levels of physical activities and physical extremes such as long periods of standing, walking, crouching, use of hands, and heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds or more. Must always be clean shaven to allow immediate donning and seal of respirator. Requirements Successful work experience in asbestos, remediation, and general construction. Remediation training and/or certification preferred. Experience supervising labor crews. Proficiency driving box trucks and/or driving pick-up trucks with trailers as needed. Must be willing and able to work a VARIABLE SCHEDULE, including overtime, night, and weekend hours. Willing to travel. MUST have a VALID DL with clean driving record, and reliable transportation to/from work. MUST be able to clear background check processes required to gain access (security clearance) on job sites including military bases, schools, and other public/government facilities.
