Colden is owned and managed by practicing Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIHs) and Certified Safety Professionals (CSPs).  Position Description: Colden is currently hiring an Industrial Hygiene and Safety Specialist with 2 to 5 years of experience to work out of their Albany area office. This is a full-time position working with a team of Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIHs), Certified Safety Professionals (CSPs), senior scientists, and other specialists to support consulting projects in the areas of industrial hygiene (IH), occupational safety, environmental management, and occupational and environmental health sciences. Project assignments may include: Conduct IH surveys to assess chemical, physical, and biological agents (e.g., air sampling, noise monitoring, mold assessments, etc.). Conduct safety and health assessments, inspections, and audits in a wide range of industrial and non-industrial settings, such as universities, hospitals, laboratories, museums, media and entertainment productions, offices, and others. Research and accurately reference standards (e.g., OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, ISO). Provide support for indoor environmental quality (IEQ) investigations. Complete other tasks as assigned such as: Develop or update written health and safety procedures and training materials. Conduct research for projects in occupational and environmental health sciences. Provide support for gap assessments and client action plans to conform with environmental health and safety management system specifications (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001). Conduct performance checks of ventilation and other controls. Prepare written reports and other communications. Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (BS), preferably in industrial hygiene, occupational safety, or environmental health (or a science or engineering degree and relevant work experience). Experience range: 2 to 5 years considered. Excellent communication skills and professionalism. Self-motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented with ability to manage workload independently with support from others. Willing and flexible to travel where necessary, in addition to supporting local clients.  Desired Qualifications Work experience in environmental health and safety. Relevant health and safety certifications. Project management experience. Working knowledge of health and safety regulations, standards, and guidelines. Familiarity with common industrial hygiene monitoring methods and noise dosimetry. OSHA 10- or 30-hour General Industry Training and/or OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
