Job Listing Title: Wastewater Start-up Engineer  Pay Range: $36.06- $46.06 per hour    START UP ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION Cloacina is a manufacturer and purveyor of package wastewater treatment plants and industry equipment located on the Central Coast of California. It is owned and managed by a family of licensed operators and maintenance mechanics, now four generations deep. The Start Up Engineer ensures client relations through the process of start-up, commissioning and warranty period. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide technical support on all projects with focus on start-up and commissioning of the mechanical, electrical, biological, instrumentation and automation systems to ensure the complete design functions as a whole and meets client specifications - Conduct commissioning coordination meetings with owner, project management, and contractors - Develop project specific commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules - Manage project specific pre-start, start-up, and function testing field work - Develop and implement effective training, troubleshooting, and operations support programs that ensure system performance and client satisfaction - Provide technical support to clients by identifying and resolving client challenges - Solve and prevent client problems by performing system analysis, interpreting data and providing written recommendations to ensure client systems are operating at optimal levels. - Operations and Maintenance Manual Assembly/Compilation - Client communication during and after production - Site Visits - Project calendars and contacts management - Travel arrangements and itineraries - Prepare correspondence including client letters, memos, reports, forms, meeting minutes, transmittals and etc. - Pictures - Support documentation - Warranty assessments, direction for warranty repairs - QC/Commissioning reports generated/managed REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Driven, energetic self-starter who identifies and accomplishes goals without explicit instruction - Can handle multiple priorities with consistent and strong follow through. Able to analyze data in order to recommend improvements - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to respond to, and handle, challenges in a professional and solutions-oriented manner - Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays when required and may be required to travel as necessary. Must have the knowledge and use of general office equipment including telephone system, scanner and other pertinent office related equipment. - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a thorough working knowledge of the Internet, Adobe Master Collection and Microsoft Office Suites software. - Must be able to lift 50lbs - Must be able to sit, walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands to finger, climb, balance, talk, hear, crawl, drive and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time - Must be able to climb stairs and ladders - Must be able to pull and push equipment resulting in 100lbs of force Pay is DOE. Applicant must have a clean DMV record. There may be occasional traveling involved with this position. NOTICE OF OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS The wastewater industry can be hazardous due to exposure to biological and chemical hazards, as well as physical dangers like confined spaces, slips, and falls. Employees may come in contact with wastewater which contains human waste. Wastewater contains various bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can cause diseases in humans and animals. Workers can be exposed through contact with wastewater, aerosols containing pathogens, or contaminated equipment. Wastewater treatment processes also involve the use of various chemicals, some of which can be toxic or corrosive. It is imperative that employees wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols. While not mandatory, it is also highly recommended that employees stay current with vaccinations, including Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, and Diphtheria.
