Must be experienced with the process of producing client drawings and production/fabrication drawings. Must be experienced and proficient in CAD and CAM software, 3D rendering. Experience in creating CNC files required. The ideal candidate should be skilled in drafting decorative patterns, understanding materials and engineering, daily interaction with the production team, intricate millwork and heavily sculpted three-dimensional elements for production, great team working skills requested. Candidate must be familiar with materials such as solid wood, plywood, plastic, metal fabrication and veneer work. The General Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field construction operations which includes: a. Managing field leaders such as Superintendents, Foreman, and other site leads b. Ensure safety standards per company Best Practices and OSHA standards are implemented at job-sites and that on-site leadership is enforcing it c. Coordinating and scheduling labor assignments for each week’s projects & tasks according to Project Schedules via the Field Leaders and Project Managers. d. Overseeing & implementing project quality standards for the project and ensuring installation Best Practice Systems are being upheld e. Implement & oversee company training for field personal such as: a. Superintendent & Foreman Training b. Safety & Equipment Inspections c. Coordinate and oversee sub-contractor awareness and expectations of job-sites e. Implement, monitor, benchmark and enforce standards of production for self-performed work to ensure field personal are operating efficiently & effectively f. Assist with modular deliveries and coordination along with the factory production teams g. Communicate to Factory Teams, Estimating Team, Project Managers, and others of opportunities or issues in regards to production, technology, budgets, etc. h. Uphold high customer service standards through personal leadership and managed employees i. Promote the company image through exercising sound and ethical business practices as they relate to customers, suppliers, employees and the public j. Follow & promote all guidelines, policies and procedures established by the company k. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, health & safety laws & ordinances Requirements: a. High School Degree Preferred: Post Secondary Degree (Trade or Bachelor’s) b. Minimum of ten (10) years of valid construction experience and a preference will be placed on candidates with five (5) years of a leadership capacity role such as Superintendent, Foreman, or other comparable leadership in the construction industry c. The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide sufficiently to figure normal calculations d. The ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints, specifications, and contracts e. The ability to foresee events and anticipate changes in conditions and operations to the greatest extent possible and react to these appropriately f. Maintain valid CA driver’s License g. Proficient with Microsoft Office such as Project, Excel, Outlook, and Word h. The ability to multi-task effectively and manage stress load appropriately i. Maintain an organized works space, shop, and communication system with your field team and company personnel. j. Experience with complex and high-end residential projects Authority: a. Manage field operations in regards to directing Field Leaders, project safety, assign work and direct field crew staff for successful project progress through completion b. Recruit, hire, train, discipline, evaluate and make changes in status of all field employees in accordance with company policies and procedures c. QUALIFICATIONS WE'RE LOOKING FOR: Ideally 5+ years of previous experience heading up projects for another established landscape design firm or experience working on their own larger-scale projects. Formal education in landscape / hardscape design. Upbeat and driven to create stunning environments that positively impact people's lives. Knowledge of Mediterranean plantings and their characteristics, growth habits, ideal planting conditions, etc. Experience working with hardscape material vendors so as to research and specify materials for a design. Ability to speak and write in English fluently. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus but not necessary. Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills with clients and contractors. A positive, self-starter attitude. Able to confidently and smoothly present a complete design to a client, and run the whole design through from initial consultation, preparing and presenting design, detailing out the design elements, coordinating outside engineers / consultants, turning design over to contractor for bidding, and design coordination during installation phase. Has reliable transportation with a valid current drivers license. Proficient with AutoCAD is a plus but not necessary. Proficiency with Sketchup or another rendering software is a plus but not necessary. A portfolio of luxury residential work is key. COMPENSATION: Project-based compensation either as a flat fee or hourly proposed by you. We would pay you as an independent contractor and you would represent our company with our clients.
