Description

We are currently seeking Senior Gas Project Engineer(s) in a hybrid setting located somewhere in Central NY, Western NY, or Northwestern PA. The ideal candidate has at least a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or other engineering field with the required experience). The successful candidate will act in a consultant role for our existing utility clients. Types of projects include (but are not limited to) main and service replacements, system improvements, pressure upgrades, new business main extensions, highway improvements, regulator station and facility design, Gate Station design, odorization, pre-heat, valve replacements, Mega Rule compliance activities, cathodic protection design, critical crossing and horizontal directional drilling design, odorization and pipe conditioning, Integrity Projects, Stress Analyses using FEM software, and more. Duties Conduct preliminary field work which would include carrying approximately 10 lbs. throughout the work day. Expected amount of field work would be approximately 5-10% of annual work load, but may vary based on client needs and project assignments. Coordinate with all project stakeholders and act in the interest of our clients to support their project goals. Production of quality basemap and construction drawings for client, municipal, and regulatory agency review using AutoCAD. Including details, BOM, Material Specifications, O&M manual development, management of inter-disciplinary projects, and more. Development of energization and de-energization procedures. Contractor and construction cost estimation. Alternative Analyses and detailed comparisons including Risk Assessment Code and Compliance Reviews, Gap Analyses, O&M and Construction standard audits and modification. DIMP and/or TIMP plan development and/or audits and/or improvements. Data entry into SAP Work Management System to support your project work in our clients’ WMS’s. Apply for and obtain municipal highway permits and other right-of-way permits (e.g. NYSDOT, railroad, Thruway Authority, Canal Corporation, etc.) Assist with Procurement activities and evaluate bid submissions Participate in pre-construction and/or pre-bid meetings, site visits to meet with contractors and owners, etc. Coordinate with landowners to obtain right-of-way / easement when required. Create as-built records from inspector’s field notes. Supervise, mentor, and train junior staff. Act as a role model. Set and monitor goals, objectives, and progress. Assist with marketing, business development, and SOP development. Requirements  This is a Senior Level position, and you must have proven / demonstrated the ability to perform the duties of this role through previous employment. Bachelor’s or master's degree in civil or mechanical engineering (or other closely related field). Minimum of 10 years of related experience for Natural Gas Operator or consultant in Natural Gas industry (Transmission and Distribution with FERC familiarity preferred) Strong verbal and written communication skills. Presents and conducts themselves in a professional manner. Able to pace themselves and work within defined project budgets. Ability to balance multiple projects and assignments and prioritize their individual workload. Need to possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving history required. Excellent organizational skills. Willingness to travel to project sites in Northwestern PA, Central NY, and Western NY. Ability to carry 10 lbs. throughout the workday sometimes through difficult terrain such as forests, agriculture fields, etc. Preferred / Bonus Experience: Compressed Natural Gas Hydrogen transportation and/or blending. Professional Engineering license or GTI Competent Engineer Certification Salary Range: $75,000 - $125,000 per year The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. The candidate will be responsible for the survey work preformed on-site in the field, as well as providing quality control for survey deliverables. Responsibilities Responsible for collecting data to ensure completion of a project: Locating boundary, pins, improvements, utilities, etc. while performing various project types including ALTA, boundary, construction staking, and topographic surveys. Check and reduce raw field data, perform calculations, and download/file survey data. Perform project research as needed. Follow instructions and work orders from project managers.
