Residential Drafter (Bend)

RESIDENTIAL DRAFTER (Please note: This position is NOT available for remote work) SUN FOREST CONSTRUCTION, beautiful Central Oregon’s most longstanding and diversified remodel and custom home builder known for its integrity, quality and service has an opening for a Residential Drafter to add to our talented team. This person will work with clients to design and prepare detailed drawings for new custom home and remodel projects using 3D architectural design software. POSITION SUMMARY: This individual will assist the design department by preparing detailed drawings and plans of architectural and structural features for new custom home projects and of existing homes for addition and remodel designs using REVIT. QUALIFICATIONS: -5 years of residential design and drafting experience. -Proficiency with REVIT, AutoCAD and/or related design software. -Understanding of construction concepts as they pertain to residential building. -5 years of as-built drawings, construction documents and plan notation experience. -Some college experience or degree preferred; architectural courses or formal education are a bonus. -Valid Oregon Driver’s License and good driving record that meets insurance requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: -Must be computer literate with AutoCAD or similar architectural design software and prefer experience with REVIT. -Must have the skills and ability to interpret and produce complex architectural plans, details, and blueprints. -Working knowledge of construction practices; some hands-on construction experience helpful. -Understanding of design principles and spatial relationships. -Must be personable and articulate with a polished and professional image, and able to represent the company both verbally and in written communications. -Must be detailed, well organized and an effective time manager to ensure that all aspects of the project assigned are completed on schedule. -Must have excellent interpersonal skills to interface effectively, collaboratively and professionally with coworkers, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and others involved with business operations. -Must have high ethical standards and be able to uphold Sun Forest’s excellent reputation in the business community. -Must have the physical ability to meet the demands of the position, which include standing, sitting, crawling, and occasionally climbing on 20 ft. ladders and roofs, reaching. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: -Forms a solid partnership with the design and sales team throughout the design/build process & generate customer loyalty to SFC through confidence in the quality of our product, enthusiasm, charisma, communication skills, and design knowledge. -Apply drafting and technical knowledge & techniques to prepare working and as-built drawings. -Apply field notes to detailed technical drawings. -Balance time appropriately between office and field duties. -Effectively and professionally communicate with all parties involved with the project on a regular basis, including keeping the Department Manager informed of any challenges or issues that may arise. -Apply construction and design background to analyze and prepare working drawings. -Exhibits good judgment, high ethical standards, and competent decision-making skills at all times, and represents Sun Forest reputably with our clients, staff, suppliers, business associates, and in the community.
