Duties: Assisting senior level bridge staff with analysis, design, detailing and inspection on local and State DOT projects. Other responsibilities may include: report preparation, field reconnaissance and inspection, project rendering. Attend meetings and conferences when necessary/required. Complete miscellaneous structural designs, such as shoring and falsework. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (with concentration in structural engineering) from an ABET Accredited College. 3 to 5 years of experience Preferably have their EIT Certificate (or the ability to obtain within 12 months) – PE License is a plus. Experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, SAP2000, Midas Civil, EnerCalc, and MathCAD is a plus. Experience with PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission projects and their design software is a plus. The Structures Discipline provides structural engineering services with emphasis on new design, repair, and rehabilitation of constructed works, as well as investigation and performance evaluation. Individual must be able to work independently, as well as part of multi-discipline teams. Duties: Serves as a Lead Engineer who supervises a team of structural engineers, designers and technicians in production of structural construction documents including drawings, specifications, bidding and construction administration for large complex projects including calculation and document reviews. Develops cost effective system layouts as well as performing calculations and coordination with other disciplines. Performs site visits for documentation and cost estimating of existing systems and building conditions. Prepares technical specifications. Reviews and evaluates shop drawings and product submittals. Visits construction sites to inspect work in progress or completed. Maintains and manages budgets for projects including hours and resources. Maintains client relationships Prepares Engineering Reports. Completes complex and specialty types of design. Stays abreast of technical advancements in respective field and disseminates information to others. Works closely with regional managers on managing workload allocation and assists on the preparation of business proposals for new work. Requirements Minimum of 10+ years of experience working in the consulting engineering industry. Strong writing and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. BS in Civil Engineering is required. A New York State PE license is required. Revit Experience is a plus. Project history using computer analysis software experience is essential. We are looking for a Survey Crew Chief to fulfill the increasing needs of our clients in the Richmond, VA region. Location is flexible to Richmond and the greater surrounding area. The candidate will be responsible for the survey work preformed on-site in the field, as well as providing quality control for survey deliverables. Responsibilities Responsible for collecting data to ensure completion of a project: Locating boundary, pins, improvements, utilities, etc. while performing various project types including ALTA, boundary, construction staking, and topographic surveys. Check and reduce raw field data, perform calculations, and download/file survey data. Perform project research as needed. Follow instructions and work orders from project managers. Communicate daily with your Field Project Manager to confirm if you are on track to complete your field schedule and informing them when you are behind or ahead of schedule. Physical work environment demands: Ability to safely traverse and navigate rugged terrain in remote areas. Ability to regularly work outside in all weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, wet, and muddy conditions with high/precarious places.
