Job Description: Entry level position. We offer training. *Report to the office every day *Perform plan take-offs, use software to measure and count mechanical system components to ensure accurate project price estimation. *Review project plans and specifications to include all necessary job scope details in project pricing. *Work with the Lead Estimator to prepare and submit project bids *Ability to interpret field drawings and keep project schedules in regard to drawing submittals *Potential site visits to obtain field information for use in shop and coordinate drawings, as-builts, etc.. *Build and create a CAD image library consisting of frequently used symbols and designs *Use and knowledge of drafting to execute BIM modeling and 3D modeling initiatives *Working knowledge of HVAC - AutoCAD software. THE POSITION The Supervising Engineer plays a critical role in advancing Sacramento’s traffic safety and mobility goals. With increasing political attention, emerging technologies, a broader definition of mobility that encompasses active transportation and equity, and growing complexity in traffic safety, the Supervising Engineer ensures that the City provides timely, high-level engineering review and guidance. The Supervising Engineer (Design, Entitlements and Studies) leads teams responsible for ensuring the public transportation network meets city, local, state, and federal standards and best practices for safe, connected, and equitable mobility. The position manages the Entitlements and Traffic Studies (ETS) and Traffic Engineering Design (TE) sections within the Transportation Division. The Supervising Engineer (Safety Response) leads teams responsible for addressing the immediate need to respond to and reduce Sacramento's high collision rate, implementing roadway safety improvements, and special projects such as quick build applications, using data-driven and community centered countermeasures. IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in transportation design or traffic engineering, with experience in capital project delivery and quick-build applications, as well as expertise in traffic analysis, traffic safety, and active transportation. This person will work with clients to design and prepare detailed drawings for new custom home and remodel projects using 3D architectural design software. POSITION SUMMARY: This person will prepare detailed drawings and plans of architectural and structural features for new custom home and remodel projects using REVIT. Interaction with clients in a sales capacity is also a key function of this job. QUALIFICATIONS: -Proficiency with REVIT or similar architectural design software. -Degree or equivalent, with formal architectural education required. -Prefer candidate with 5+ years of custom home design experience. -Prefer candidate with residential construction and building experience. -Background in construction drawings and design for design review and permit submittal. -Thorough understanding of design concepts as they pertain to residential building. -Valid Oregon Driver’s License and good driving record that meet insurance requirements.
