Bevyhouse is a premium builder of custom, prefabricated homes. We design, engineer and build homes in our factory that are faster, stronger and more cost effective than traditional site building. The General Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field construction operations which includes: a. Managing field leaders such as Superintendents, Foreman, and other site leads b. Ensure safety standards per company Best Practices and OSHA standards are implemented at job-sites and that on-site leadership is enforcing it c. Coordinating and scheduling labor assignments for each week’s projects & tasks according to Project Schedules via the Field Leaders and Project Managers. d. Overseeing & implementing project quality standards for the project and ensuring installation Best Practice Systems are being upheld e. Implement & oversee company training for field personal such as: a. Superintendent & Foreman Training b. Safety & Equipment Inspections c. Coordinate and oversee sub-contractor awareness and expectations of job-sites e. Implement, monitor, benchmark and enforce standards of production for self-performed work to ensure field personal are operating efficiently & effectively f. Assist with modular deliveries and coordination along with the factory production teams g. Communicate to Factory Teams, Estimating Team, Project Managers, and others of opportunities or issues in regards to production, technology, budgets, etc. h. Uphold high customer service standards through personal leadership and managed employees i. Promote the company image through exercising sound and ethical business practices as they relate to customers, suppliers, employees and the public j. Follow & promote all guidelines, policies and procedures established by the company k. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, health & safety laws & ordinances Requirements: a. High School Degree Preferred: Post Secondary Degree (Trade or Bachelor’s) b. Minimum of ten (10) years of valid construction experience and a preference will be placed on candidates with five (5) years of a leadership capacity role such as Superintendent, Foreman, or other comparable leadership in the construction industry c. The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide sufficiently to figure normal calculations d. The ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints, specifications, and contracts e. The ability to foresee events and anticipate changes in conditions and operations to the greatest extent possible and react to these appropriately f. Maintain valid CA driver’s License g. Proficient with Microsoft Office such as Project, Excel, Outlook, and Word h. The ability to multi-task effectively and manage stress load appropriately i. Maintain an organized works space, shop, and communication system with your field team and company personnel. j. Experience with complex and high-end residential projects Authority: a. Manage field operations in regards to directing Field Leaders, project safety, assign work and direct field crew staff for successful project progress through completion b. Recruit, hire, train, discipline, evaluate and make changes in status of all field employees in accordance with company policies and procedures c. The position will support our geotechnical engineering department with any/all CAD and/or GIS-related tasks; including (but not limited to): • Preparing design drawings and report figures using both CAD and GIS platforms; • Building & maintaining a variety of GIS databases; and • Preparation of subsurface exploration logs. Representative Duties: • Performs tasks to create, edit or verify CAD drawings and related data. • Performs tasks to create or update CAD drawings from notes, sketches, drawings, data files, GPS, or verbal direction. • Creates GIS mapping databases and produces drawings and report figures using GIS. • Creates reports or extracts data using reporting tools or pre-defined queries. • Download, convert, and upload CAD/GIS data available from internal or external sources. Catalog, inventory, and consolidate CAD/GIS data, including metadata creation to department standards. • Assists with CAD/GIS software enhancements, upgrades, and configurations. • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned. Education: All candidates for the position must have (at a minimum) a high school diploma (or equivalent) plus completion of twenty (20) total college semester credit hours in CAD, GIS/geomatics, remote sensing, photogrammetry, computer science, natural science, surveying technology, engineering, urban planning, cartography, geography, or related fields. Minimum of nine (9) credit hours is required in CAD. A degree or formal CAD certification is preferred.   Experience: Four (4) years of work experience where CAD is a major responsibility is required. Additional work experience where CAD is a major responsibility above the required four (4) years may be substituted for the required education; likewise, additional education in CAD may be substituted for up to two (2) years required work experience. For these purposes, one (1) year of experience is equivalent to six (6) college semester credit hours of education. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: • Must have the ability to proficiently and independently operate CAD software packages to perform the representative duties. • Must have the ability to learn or do basic GIS editing. Some GIS experience or education preferred. • Must be detail and accuracy oriented. • Must have strong mathematical skills. • Should have an understanding of civil drafting disciplines, drawing standards, associated symbology and design concepts. • Ability to translate documentation to update CAD data and displays. • Knowledge of and ability to follow QA/QC procedures. • Ability to import and export data to various formats. • Ability to understand land-based coordinate systems. • Must exhibit excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Skilled in writing instructions, documentation and reports. • Perform scanner/plotter/printer operation and maintenance. • Ability to work in a team environment. • Must be able to work with Microsoft Office products • Character, integrity and a positive attitude are prerequisites. Compensation: Compensation will be based on the candidate’s experience and will be adjusted periodically based on performance, tenure, and inflation. However, starting pay for this position will typically range between $33-$38/hr (DOE).
