CAD designer/drafter structural wood construction

Responsibilities: • Performs drafting and design work for building components of post-frame and standard wood frame construction projects using AutoCAD LT • Producing plans from information provided by clients using established internal drafting procedures and engineering calculations • Has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision • Has the ability to read, interpret, and draft new and modify existing AutoCAD drawings • Working effectively and efficiently both independently and as a part of a team • Must have a strong willingness to learn drafting and structural wood design, along with an ability to learn quickly and have the initiative to further their knowledge of engineering and construction on a consistent basis. • Must have a high degree of attention to detail • Other responsibilities including answering phones, processing & scheduling jobs, and working directly with clients Qualifications: • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent • Computer knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office, i.e. Word and Excel. Some computer networking or IT experience would be a plus! • PREFERRED: 5 years architectural and/or structural design and drafting experience preferably with AutoCad or AutoCad LT (3-D CAD experience not required) • Experience in wood frame and/or post-frame construction desirable • Excellent and professional communication skills, both with colleagues and with the general public • Self-motivated and can work both independently and as part of a team • Enjoys people and has a sense of humor!
