Job Summary: As a Team Member at Sbarro, you will play an essential role in ensuring customers have a positive dining experience by providing outstanding service, preparing high-quality food, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment in the restaurant. Key Responsibilities: Customer Service: Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner. Take customer orders accurately and promptly, answering any questions regarding the menu. Process customer payments and provide correct change or receipts. Serve food to customers in a timely and professional manner, ensuring their satisfaction. Address customer complaints or concerns professionally and resolve them effectively. Food Preparation: Assist in preparing pizza, pasta, salads, and other menu items according to Sbarro's standards. Operate kitchen equipment (ovens, fryers, grills) safely and efficiently. Ensure food is prepared fresh and consistently meets the restaurant's quality standards. Portion and assemble food items accurately and efficiently for both dine-in and carry-out orders. Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the restaurant, including the kitchen, dining area, and restrooms. Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations regularly to meet health and safety regulations. Ensure all food safety procedures are followed, including the proper storage, handling, and preparation of food items. Cashier and Register: Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately, including cash, credit, and mobile payments. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient register area. Provide customers with receipts, handle returns or exchanges, and ensure all transactions are correct. Team Collaboration: Work as part of a team to ensure smooth restaurant operations. Communicate effectively with coworkers to ensure customer orders are completed accurately and efficiently. Help train new team members or assist with cross-training in other restaurant areas. Support team members during busy periods to ensure excellent service and order accuracy. Inventory and Stocking: Help with stocking and organizing food, beverages, and other supplies. Assist in managing inventory and ensuring products are well-stocked and rotated according to company guidelines. Monitor the inventory and notify management of low stock levels to ensure timely replenishment. Other Duties: Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning, organizing, and prepping the restaurant for the next shift. Perform other tasks as directed by the restaurant manager or supervisor. Skills and Qualifications: Customer Service: Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with customers in a friendly, professional manner. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with other team members and contribute to a positive, collaborative environment. Attention to Detail: Ensures food is prepared to the restaurant's high standards and that customers receive accurate orders. Time Management: Ability to work efficiently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, especially during busy times. Cash Handling: Ability to process payments accurately and manage cash register transactions. Food Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards (training may be provided). Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 pounds.
