Samsung SDS plays a leading role in the global logistics market with unique logistics services. With its innovative IT technology, SDS developed the integrated logistics solution called “Cello” in 2010, started its logistics business in 2012 and expanded its logistics business with Business Process Outsourcing. As Logistics Counsel, you identify significant legal issues and provide accurate, relevant, and timely legal support to various business stakeholders of the company’s Smart Logistics (SL) business. Primarily, this position will provide legal advice for a resolution of logistics claims, including those arising out of warehouse operations and transportation, develop and maintain SOPs for claims processes, and help file claims with relevant insurance carriers, and mitigate legal risks by ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to SL business. This position will also draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts in the context of global supply chain and logistics services, particularly relating to 3PL, 4PL transportation and warehousing, import/export, and customs. This requires understanding of the logistics and supply chain, ability to establish priorities and take actions, while promoting good legal practices and explaining difficult issues clearly and working with others to establish consensus. Qualified candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, timely reporting to leadership, while collaborating within SL Legal & Compliance and business stakeholders within and outside the organization.
