Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various areas of law, including but not limited to personal injury law. This role involves representing clients in litigation proceedings, conducting legal research, and providing sound legal advice. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional negotiation skills and have experience with legal drafting and administrative tasks within a law office environment. Duties • Represent clients in court proceedings and legal negotiations across multiple areas of law. • Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw to support case preparation. • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs with precision and clarity. • Prepare for trials by organizing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and developing case strategies. • Advise clients on their rights and obligations under various laws. • Collaborate with other attorneys on complex cases involving personal injury, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, general liability, premises liability, and others. • Maintain accurate records of all case-related activities and communications. Skills • Strong knowledge of civil litigation processes and procedures. • An ideal candidate will have civil litigation and/or insurance defense experience. • Proficiency in legal research methodologies and tools such as Westlaw. • Excellent writing skills for drafting clear and persuasive legal documents. • Solid negotiation skills to effectively advocate for clients during settlement discussions. • Familiarity with diverse areas of law including civil litigation. • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while managing individual caseloads effectively. Prepare hearing binders and assist attorneys with case preparation, including MSCs and trials. Communicate with clients to explain case status, medical treatment, and benefit issues. Maintain deadlines, ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory timelines, and flag issues requiring attorney review. Qualifications Required: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in California workers’ compensation case management or as a hearing representative. Strong understanding of California Labor Code, Title 8 CCR regulations, and WCAB procedures. Proficiency with EAMS and experience handling QME/AME disputes. MUST speak and write Spanish Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Team player with a client-focused approach. Compensation & Work Environment Pay range: $25 – $32 per hour depending on experience.
