We are hiring a hands on Construction Project Manager to lead a project in Guadalupe while supporting operations from our Santa Barbara office. Position Summary The Project Manager will plan, coordinate, and oversee civil and concrete construction activities for a project in Guadalupe, CA, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, on budget, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate has project management experience in civil construction and/or concrete work, strong communication skills, and excellent attention to detail. The role will require regular travel to the Guadalupe site and occasional regional travel. Required Qualifications • 3+ years of construction project management experience, preferably in civil construction and/or concrete. • Experience with foundations, structural steel, and deep foundation methods (caissons, tiebacks, micropiles) strongly preferred. • No degree required — equivalent experience and a proven track record accepted. • Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and subcontractor performance. • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with clients and field personnel. • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly to the Guadalupe site and other regional locations as needed. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with construction software (Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, or equivalent) preferred. Preferred Qualifications • OSHA 10/30 certification or equivalent safety training. • PMP or CCM and/or prior experience managing heavy civil/structural projects. • Experience interpreting structural/geotechnical drawings and specifications. Our shop is in Sunnyside, Queens. Our site work tends to be mainly in the 5 boroughs, but we do a significant amount of work out of the city as well.
 We work on wood windows & doors, cornices, staircases, and other architectural woodwork. We work at public & private buildings. Our projects range from staircase and handrail installation to the installation & servicing of traditional wood windows. Being focused on restoration, our work tends to be eclectic and requires flexibility. Each staff member is engaged in a variety of tasks both on-site & in the shop. We occasionally work on brownstone scaffolds so a comfort with heights is helpful. We often work in sensitive environments such as museums, public spaces & religious buildings. Thoughtful behavior and proper inter-personal skills are essential. The ideal candidate is skilled in carpentry with a strong background in managing safety, quality control, and scheduling in occupied and high-performance commercial spaces.
