Sewer - Seasonal Position (Waipahu)

We are seeking an experienced Sewer to join our production team for the upcoming seasonal period. The ideal candidate will operate sewing machines to construct, assemble, and finish home decor and commercial textile products including pillows, curtains, table linens, and other decorative items according to specifications and quality standards. This position requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Operate single-needle, double-needle, and specialized sewing machines to construct home and commercial decor products - Sew pillows, cushion covers, curtains, table linens, throws, and other decorative textile items - Read and interpret work orders, patterns, and technical specifications - Select appropriate thread, needles, and machine settings for different fabrics and projects - Inspect materials and finished products for defects and ensure quality standards are met - Perform minor machine maintenance including threading, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting - Meet daily production quotas while maintaining quality standards - Maintain a clean and organized work area - Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment - Report equipment malfunctions or quality issues to supervisor - Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth production flow Required Qualifications Experience: - Minimum 2 years of professional sewing experience - Experience with various types of sewing machines - Demonstrated ability to sew straight seams and follow patterns Skills: - Proficient in operating sewing equipment - Ability to read and follow technical instructions and patterns - Strong attention to detail and quality consciousness - Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity - Basic math skills for measurements - Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive motions - Capable of meeting production deadlines Physical Requirements - Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours with breaks) - Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for precise machine operation - Ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally - Good visual acuity to inspect seams and detect defects - Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions - Hearing ability to detect machine irregularities Working Conditions - Climate-controlled manufacturing facility - Moderate noise level from sewing equipment - Seasonal position: October 2025 - January 2026 - Standard shift: 8-hour shifts Interested candidates should submit: - Email resume highlighting relevant sewing experience - Three professional references - Expected Start Date: As early as, 10/20/2025 Equal Opportunity Employer Statement NOHO HOME is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
