Job Title: Sewing Technician / Gear & Garment Repair Specialist Location: Portland, OR About Us: Stitch Tech is a growing gear and garment repair and manufacturing shop in Portland. We specialize in giving outdoor gear, technical apparel, and everyday clothing a longer life, while also creating high-quality sewn products. We’re a small, skilled team that values craftsmanship, problem-solving, and a love for making things last. Position Overview: We’re looking for motivated, detail-oriented problem solvers to join our team. This position focuses heavily on repairs—from patching torn jackets to fixing tents, backpacks, and other outdoor equipment. You’ll also assist with manufacturing sewn products for our in-house line. Must have experience sewing but we’ll train you to work with industrial sewing machines and other equipment. Responsibilities: Perform gear and garment repairs, including patching, zipper replacement, and re-stitching. Diagnose repair needs and develop creative solutions for challenging jobs. Assist in small-scale manufacturing of sewn goods. Operate and maintain industrial sewing equipment, laser cutters, and pattern sewing machines (training provided). Collaborate with team members to meet quality and production standards. Provide excellent service to customers through attention to detail and craftsmanship. Qualifications: Comfortable and confident using a home sewing machine. Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality work. Ability to problem-solve and adapt to unique repair challenges. Enthusiasm for learning new skills and equipment. Prior sewing, tailoring, or gear repair experience is a plus but not required.
