As we grow under new ownership, we’re looking for a skilled and reliable Cobbler/Technician/Shoe Repair Artist to join our team and bring expert hands-on experience to our busy repair shop. Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced cobbler or technician with a minimum of 7 years of directly relevant or transferable trade experience. The ideal candidate is confident using equipment for traditional and modern repair techniques, takes pride in precision work, and enjoys contributing to a culture of quality and professionalism. Key Responsibilities: * Perform a wide range of repairs including but not limited to: * Heel and sole replacement (leather, rubber, Vibram, etc.) * Stitching, patching, and refinishing leather * Zipper replacement and hardware repairs * Cleaning, conditioning, and polishing shoes and boots * Work with leather goods including handbags, belts, and other accessories * Maintain tools, machinery, and workspace in excellent working order * Engage with customers professionally when needed and help provide repair estimates * Support ongoing training of junior staff or apprentices, if applicable Requirements: * 7+ years of trade experience * Willingness and excitement to learn new skills and techniques * High attention to detail and pride in workmanship * Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment * Reliable, punctual, and collaborative attitude Bonus if you have: * Proven cobbling or shoe/leather repair experience including demonstrated expertise in using repair machinery (finisher, press, stitcher, etc.) * Bilingual (English + Spanish) * Additional skills in upholstery, tailoring, or similar handcraft trades What We Offer: * Competitive hourly pay based on experience and output * Opportunities for increased responsibility and compensation over time * Supportive, respectful workplace with future potential for creative projects (e.g., customizations, sneaker restoration, handbag refurbishing) * A chance to be part of a revitalized, customer-loved shop with a strong reputation and growth plan Join us in preserving the craft—and putting quality and sustainability back in style.
